I’m not back to her physically yet. But I have all of the belief in the world I CAN, especially as I find myself getting mentally back to her.
It took some time. Taking on some challenges. Support and motivation from my groups. And deciding that I was worth it once, and still was.
No magic pill got me here (and I have something to say about magic pills that will have to wait for tomorrow!)...and this time, it will be the same!! Small disciplines and habits over time...workouts, choosing the foods that make me feel good, checking in with inspiring friends, treating my body like I love it instead of hate it...add to big results!
We can all build those small habits! .
“Always dream and shoot higher than you know you can do. Do not bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself.” -Faulkner
Landscape painting has always had my heart, yet I’ve never felt like I’m good enough at it, or rather, I haven’t met my own expectations. I’ve never quite found that sweet spot that feels like it’s my own, yet I’ll never quit trying because I hope and feel that someday it will all just click together (well, probably not click, more like a lot of hard work and exploration). I think it’s so important to try to continually push forward and ‘be better than yourself’. Do you agree?
