Oh the things that can change in a year.
I remember laying on the floor taking this picture. I was about one month into maternity leave - loving being able to capture more glimpses of sunshine and snuggles with my new baby boy in those days at home, away from work.
I would daydream about having more time at home with my kids, having more time to do the little things I loved, without always feeling rushed and anxious and guilty for missing out on moments with them....and despite my passion for my career, I started having anxiety about returning back to work.... Back to a job with hours that meant I would be missing out on lifting him out of the crib in the mornings, snuggling them in their pajamas, getting them dressed for school and having limited time at night before bedtime.
And so I started thinking.....What if my second passion could actually turn into profession?
What if my part-time hours of coaching could start to pay like a full-time job?
Would it be hard work? Absolutely! Would it require drive and dedication? You bet! But would it give me FREEDOMS that most typical jobs cannot offer? Would it allow me to eventually go part-time? Would it allow me to start reclaiming my moments with my family instead of having them stolen away? YES!! So now, one year later....after working my coaching business in little pockets of time that I choose. I am happy to report I am officially part-time 💙 I am reclaiming those moments. I witnessed my son take his first steps. I get my kids dressed for school in the mornings. And today I earned a paycheck that more than doubled my once full-time job’s weekly pay....my hard work is paying off literally and figuratively and while it’s never been about the money, the financial aspect is allowing me to do so much for myself and for my family. I do not say this to gloat, and talking about money is never comfortable.... but I say this to encourage maybe even just one other mom out there like me, anxiety ridden and feeling guilty... that there is another option. Comment below if you want something different and are tired of feeling guilty. 👇🏼#parttime #beyourownboss #timeflies #maternityleave #oneyearlater #befearless
I looove the fact that there are so many possibilities with just 3 tubes of LipSense. Imagine 6 tubes! Or 10! 😍😱 Do one layer of each color (x 3 layers) and voila! NEW color! 👏🏼 One of my favorite things to do is come up with my own combos! This one might be at the top of my list!
One layer of each:
Being a positive and realistic role model for your children is always a work in progress.
In keeping with this theme, here is my best 'Friday' tip for ensuring that you get off to a great start with your family this weekend! #positiverolemodel #fridaytipoftheday
It’s obviously very official because I have a name badge! 😎
I had the opportunity to present gold awards @dofeuk
My favorite was chatting to the young men and women who will be using these experiences and opportunities to succeed in being health, happy adults.
awards create an incentive for students to go out in the world and feel what it feels like to give back through charitable efforts and challenge themselves through sport and education. The best part seemed to be the friendships and memories they made on their adventures together.
I feel very proud to live in such a place that celebrates these things in such a royal manner. ♥️🇬🇧 #beyou #befearless #beauthentic
I always wanted to be the kind of woman who wore sun hats. Age has taught me the only way to be that woman is to just BE that woman. Wear the red lipstick, go without makeup, color your hair, let it go gray, wear the dress, put on the ripped jeans. Whatever makes you feel more like you, whatever makes you want to dance around, whatever makes you feel happy. Even if you have never thought you could pull it off. Wear that. Life is too short to dress for someone else. #simplehomeandhappiness #thegiftofordinary #befearless #beyou
