Выхожу утречком на освещенную солнцем лоджию - красотища!!! ☀️☀️☀️ Под стакан (стаканище) витаминного коктейля всяческие картинки в голову лезут: вот стою я, такая, на белых ступенях, ведущих от нашего просторного каменного дома в бескрайний разросшийся сад 😍 Рядом древний забор, обвитый лианой (целых 2 вьюнка-кобеи в горшочках), откуда-то сверху свисают пылающие розовым гибкие ветки букенвилеи (розовая петуния в подвесной корзинке), а дальше - заросли орхидей, дикой гвоздики, мелких розовых цветочков, раскрывающихся по вечерам и наполняющих окрестности сладким дурманящим ароматом... Если зайти в сад поглубже, то можно отыскать земляничные полянки, пахнущие вареньем, или наткнуться на посадки помидоров😍. Эх, все это хозяйство требует ежедневного утреннего полива 😉, на а что, «мы, бояре, народ работящий!», как говаривал небезызвестный персонаж обалденного мультика про прошлогодний снег 😉. Ну ладно, полив ещё минут 10 подождёт, пойду-ка я, проверю, как там мои арабские скакуны... Хотя, стоп, арабские, вроде, чёрные 🤔. У нас он белый, хоть и один, зато вот, рядышком, сидит себе на подоконнике, ой, простите, на мраморной балюстраде, ногу лижит, ну и то, что между ними, тоже не забывает🙈, скакун, блин! Вылизывается и думает: «когда же она свою бурду выпьет, сублимировать закончит, и мной займётся?» Разумно так рассуждает! Isolation comes in many forms. Isolation from others could mean hiding away in your bedroom for weeks and months. It could mean keeping important things held back so that others cannot see, such as hiding feelings of depression, inadequacy, fear, frustration. If they are not discussed or explicitly expressed, these feelings can manifest in other behaviors which can become toxic. You can also isolate yourself from yourself. As I've struggled with depression in the past, I've gone months without practicing things I love, such as art or music. Months without reading, days without speaking, weeks without sleeping or eating in healthy amounts. It's no simple task to bring yourself to perform basics, I know. Realize that your depression, anxiety, bipolar, whatever, could be depriving you of your humanity, and that is NOT fair to you. It's not you, it's the disorder controlling you. Don't isolate yourself, period. It's one of the most unhealthy things you can do. You ARE human, you're NOT "crazy", and you ARE worth time, love, and respect. Be it from others or yourself. I’ve been getting asked “Why do u use a personal trainer? Can’t you just go to the gym, take bootcamp class, a HIIT class or follow videos?” Because I know myself and my weaknesses. For starters, sure, I’ll go to the gym. But I’ll pick random machines that are easy to figure out and then stop my reps as soon as I START to feel the first sign of discomfort. My trainer’s limit seems to always go beyond the limit I THINK I’m capable/not capable of reaching. I am also clueless about proper form if I ever dared myself to go over to the free weight section where the intimidating “gym rats” tend to live. And more importantly, I have specific goals and frankly, just reading up on “How To” isn’t enough for me. I ALWAYS have questions, doubts, complaints, setbacks, and more than my share of excuses. Speaking of excuses, I am the queen of giving myself great sounding reasons for not going to the gym: I worked late, it gets dark early, I had a rough day, I’m not feeling well, I don’t have time,they don’t allow dogs. I NEED accountability in my life, I need encouragement, I need a kick in the ass and someone who is going to call me on my bullshit and check me on it (especially when it comes to my love affair with craft cocktails and the nomnoms). I make plans for a living. But ask me to come up with a lifestyle/fitness plan that is going to help me not only reach these goals, but keep me challenged and from getting bored (aka chronic Aquarius syndrome). It’s not my forte. I know my strengths. That right there is not it. Half the stuff @bravothetrainer has me doing, I can’t find in between allll those annoying ads in Shape magazine. I do take classes. But I would need a number of different classes to achieve the results I’m looking for. It’s not just about shedding weight. It’s THAT and beyond. Strength, Power, Endurance and maintaining my bad ass level of energy. So, that’s why personal training is in the mix for me. Consistency is key to weight loss ladies and gentlemen. I stumbled upon @myadventuretofit and her @21daymealplan in June 2018, saw all the success the #mealplanbabes were having with her plan and thought ‘what do I have to lose?’. Since then I have used it not like a diet, but as a lifestyle for changing the way I was eating. I stay 90% compliant every day but I allow myself an indulgence once in a while. When I do, I don’t go crazy overboard and I get right back onto being compliant. I’m not losing crazy amount of weight each month but I’ve lost every month. Recently I’ve had a lot of discussions about meal prep . It’s a lot more than I can fit on one IG post, but I always try to cook batches of a few meal components on Sundays, to mix with fresher ingredients (leafy greens, raw veggies, etc) throughout the week, making a variety of meals. This usually means making 1-2 starches (sweet potato, or a squash) , favorite roasted veggies, breakfast, and a snack. I realize this week is almost over, but save the post for next week! • Roasted sweet potatoes and broccoli (chop into florets, toss in olive oil + salt. Roast at 350F x 30 mins until slightly browned) • Cooked quinoa (complex carb to throw in salads, grain bowls or as a side) • Hard boiled eggs (protein to throw in salads or to take as a snack) • Over night oats are RAD and delicious!
We’re almost a month into the new year and most of us went into the year with “resolutions”, high hopes of what’s to come, how to start again and goals to make. And as the days go on, maybe you haven’t gotten started yet, or you did and got you go back tracked, or maybe you’ve even given up already.. . But know that your best is enough because no matter what there’s going to be road bumps, things that get in the way expected or unexpected. Times flies and sometimes it gets ahead of it and we forget to put ourselves first. And here’s the beauty in your journey- even if you’ve fallen short of whatever exception you have of yourself; you can begin again.. . So whether we’re a month in, 6 months in, 11 months in remember that you have the ability to begin again. And make this time that much more successful 👊🏻👊🏻
