I had a great lunch yesterday with a music biz veteran, and he got a kick out of this. It was just a little thing I shared with my new Harkov Lewis teammates when I joined a few weeks back:
Here are 5 favorite pieces of Music Biz advice I received pre-real estate, and how they apply now:
1- “Make your call the best call that person gets all day” - Fred Disipio Jr.
2- “Always stand next to the star” - Frank Dileo.
3-“Learn how to say NO” - Jim Guerinot.
4- “People don’t know what they want until you show it to them” - Eddy Cue channeling Steve Jobs.
5- “When attending an event - never get on a boat” - Al Kooper
Real Estate Application?
1- Youre building relationships. Make every interaction count.
2- Be indispensable. And let the optics reflect that.
3- Protect your time - be able to tell clients, other agents “no” when they need to hear “no”. 4- Sometimes it’s good to show clients what they DIDNT think they wanted to see.
5- Optionality is key. If you ever have been on a Music Biz boat party, you quickly realize there is no escape..no way out. So, no matter how great the apartment - always have a Plan B!
Don't make Tony Montana upset...if you have an upcoming event happening in the East Texas area and have a flyer or poster let me know! I have a designated spot in the shop for exactly that. Let the Dapper men in town stay in the know with the fun goings on. 👊🏽✂️
The kind of text message that puts a smile on your face all day! Brows always feel so fresh and new after a touch up.
Thanks for coming all the way from the USA Carrie!!
OKAY this is the last post you’ll see from me about leaving Canada because I’m actually leaving now 👋 BUT I’m not going to New York *yet* 😆 .
So six days ago I was hardcore procrastinating and avoiding packing up my apartment. I started flicking around on different travel websites and instead of flying straight to New York today, I decided to take the scenic route via Europe, because why not? 🤷🏻♀️
First stop, London 🇬🇧 for the weekend, and because I’m opportunistic, I only just decided to tap on a couple of days in Berlin 🇩🇪
Yes I know I’ve been going on about this move to New York for a while - I will make it there eventually 😆 I’m really grateful today because if you know me, I’ve been working hard on creating more flexibility and mobility in my life so I can decide to take last minute trips like this one ✈️
I’m enjoying one last Timmy Ho’s apple fritter and finally actually leaving Canada now!😅 Thanks to everyone who came by over the past couple weeks (pictured and not pictured), including my canine friends 🐶, who I will miss so much! Peace out!✌️
