Why we keep eating junk food, even when we know it’s unhealthy? I think it’s safe to say that you can stop blaming yourself and your willpower. ⠀⠀ Food companies spend millions perfecting the combination of fat, sugar, and salt, what they call the “bliss point" to keep us coming back for more food. All these processed foods trigger the same reward system in our brain that cocaine and gambling does, making it really hard to break the cycle. ⠀⠀ Food companies are not in the ‘health’ business, they just want to sell more and more of their products. And if there’s a strawberry on the package, doesn't mean there is a real strawberry in the product. So the best customers are addicted customers, because they keep coming back. Same as the tobacco industry did. ⠀⠀ No wonder children and adults have been driven away from relatively tasteless vegetables and toward the “super-awesome-mega-intense” options available in fast-food restaurants and supermarkets. But it’s not just the sensory experience of real food that our bodies crave. ⠀⠀ Although food scientists have figured out how to recreate intensity of taste, if not the subtle nuances of real food, they cannot duplicate what Mother Nature does best: create foods that are equally rich in flavor and nutrition. ⠀⠀ So the food industry kept us from starving, because it provides us more than enough calories. But instead, we are dying slowly from the inside, because the food doesn’t have the nutrients to feed our cells. ⠀⠀ What most people don’t realize is that we are overfed in calories and extreme underfed in nutrients. The difference is: a surviving sick body or a thriving healthy body.

Make the best of the worst. • Yesterday I looked in my calendar to prepare myself for the week ahead & saw that my week would start with a 3-4 hour long meeting. Especially with this amazing weather lately & because I don’t like sitting for so long, I wasn’t really excited about that. I decided to add something special to my morning routine, so that the day would start amazing & I would be prepared for sitting in a meeting room after. I drove to a lake close by, did my workout & went for a swim in the lake. It was freezing, people where walking their dogs wearing coats & scarfs 😂 BUT it felt amazing! More than that! • One of my best mornings in the last few weeks! The meeting went very well & I brought all the joy from my morning into the meeting room 😄🙌 • Make the best of every situation. Think differently. What can you do to make yourself feel good? I wouldn’t have done this, if it wasn’t for this meeting. • We tend to think of a day as a bad or exhausting day just because of something that is simply a few hours of the day. What about the rest? Let’s focus on the good things & cheer up the less exciting tasks, instead of whining about things. LIFE IS FREAKING AMAZING! ...always, if we allow it to be, if we choose it to be...

WALKING IS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC for mental and physical health! I generally walk 4X/Week for about an hour and it’s how I love to start my day. I get up, brush my teeth, throw on my walking clothes and go... I enjoy starting my walk before it gets light and watching the sun gradually brighten the sky☀️it’s a magical time of the day. It gives me an hour to clear my head, plan my day or ponder a way to solve a business or personal issue. My morning walk always sets my day off right✨ Walking during my INTERMITTENT FAST has the added benefit of revving up the fat burning that’s already begun because I’m exercising after a long period with no food. Timing of food and exercise can make a huge difference in overall results. I suggest starting a walking routine . Ideally it would take place first thing in the morning during your fast, but if that doesn’t work for your schedule-find a time that WILL work! Start with an easy length like 20-30 minutes and build - being successful is key to your overall ability to maintain your progress. Once you decide on a length...follow that amount for the first week and then add more time/distance for the next week and build weekly from there. And walk outside if at all possible! There are so many benefits to breathing in fresh air...
