Hahaha. Just found this pic! 😂I've been fat for a loooooooong time. 😐 I was 9. The yr was 1987. I was still living in Chicago. Two years later my family moved to Pittsburgh and I was faced with racism, prejudice and ignorance for the first time that stuck out in my mind. First my family moved to the N. Side and kids tried to bully my brother and I but we r Chi town natives and stand our ground. Black ppl who looked just like us were mean than we expected. Less than a yr. later we moved to Mt. Lebanon where white kids saw me as some sort of science project to stare at and ask inappropriate questions. Ignorance knows no color, race, religion, nationality, sex, sexual orientation or anything else in between. I used to love that butterfly shirt. I was never called fat and ugly as much as I have been by my own ppl and kids I went to school with. This pic is before braces. It's before knowing to suck my stomach in and hide who I am from most of the world. I've always been a sensitive kid. I always felt like the black sheep no one understood. Sometimes I still do. The difference is, I know how to love myself better.🙂
I really thought at one point that God wanted me to suffer. To struggle.
The more I prayed. The more I fasted. The “better” I was… the more God smiled on me. Although I would say out loud that there was no condemnation for me, I didn’t feel it. Not really. And I would struggle to feel like I was good enough. If only I could believe more.
I had all this knowledge and yet… still had the same cycles. Still super codependent. Still in toxic relationships. Still had no boundaries. I would go to church, sing songs, have a beautiful encounter with God over and over again… but still saw no change in my life.
It was exhausting. It was frustrating. And the shame I felt was debilitating.
So how did I create real lasting change?
1) I got really intentional about my healing. I didn’t feel whole and I wanted to know why. I got the right support and was COMMITTED to the journey. (If you’re not committed, it’s not going to happen)
2) I stopped ignoring my feelings. I spent the majority of my life just “getting over it” and truly allowed myself to *feel* This is one of the greatest gifts I ever gave myself, it’s truly a privilege to feel.
3) Before I could allow myself to love myself, I had to get to know myself really well… likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, patterns all of it
4) Cultivated the self-love that changed absolutely everything (and said bye to all that shame)
5) Created habits of SUCCESS
And throughout that journey I finally the Perfect Love that I had been looking and longing for the whole time. The difference was I became a co-creator in the process of my healing. I took responsibility and I was ruthless in my pursuit of wholeness.
Our healing requires our whole being. Our healing requires our hearts. Our healing requires all of us.
Are you all in on your healing?

Woohoo, it’s WEDNESDAY! 🙌🏼 And it was back to a RUNNING day on my schedule this morning! 🏃🏼♀️🎉 I hit the track with my @runarete_sacramento
teammates for a workout of 5 x 1000 @ my current 5K goal pace (400 jog recoveries). I was able to hold a 6:39 – 6:43 pace (4:13 – 4:17 splits) for all 5 intervals, so I was happy with this workout! I’m planning to race at least a couple 5K’s this fall, so the few times per week that I do run, I’m using that goal as the focus for my paces. This morning I felt that deep 🔥🔥🔥 toward the end of my last couple intervals that I haven’t really felt since my intense half marathon training this past spring. It’s funny how you can forget that sensation over time, and yet how quickly it comes back to you and it just feels like “home.” ♥️ 8.5 miles total for the day. #wakeupandrun #dailygrind #5Ktraining #runitfast
Growing up in Wisconsin, I was blessed to see Bald Eagles flying over the lakes and rivers or perched in trees quite regularly. Always a sight to behold and a beautiful reminder to see things from a different point of view.
I was fortunate to spend time in Wisconsin in the Spring. It was a last minute trip. I was supporting my Mom's recovery from surgery and assisting her in driving, shopping, cleaning and what not. It was an opportunity to slow down and shift my perspective. She received positive news at her post-op appointment. I was able to head North and spend time with my birth family. I wasn't sure this would even be possible. I mentioned to Dawn, my birth mom, that I would love to see eagles while up north. And I added, even better would be to find an eagle feather. She chuckled at my request for a feather.
The next morning, we woke to several inches of snow on the ground. I let go of the idea of seeing the eagles. My Aunt Heidi called to see what we were up to. Dawn explained I wanted to see the eagles and added with sarcasm, that I wanted a feather. However, the weather had us changing plans.
That evening we went out to dinner with more family and my brother Jesse mentioned that morning there were over 2 dozen eagles hanging out at his worksite. It wasn far from where we were. We hopped in the car for a sunset nature cruise. Just the two of us. An eagle swooped down in front of the truck and we made eye contact. It was a moment in time I will never forget. We saw them flying over head and in the trees.
The following morning, I was gifted 3 eagle feathers. I stopped at my Aunt Heidi's for an envelope containing what I thought was an eagle feather.
These feathers are sacred medicine and energy that I am so honored to share with my clients and students. Bird medicine is a powerful healing modality. Eagle medicine conveys the power and messages of the spirit. It is man's connection to the divine because it flies higher than any other bird. It bestows freedom and courage to look ahead. The eagle is symbolic of the importance of honesty and truthful principles.
Thank you for the gift of healing hands, synchronicity and love. I am blessed.
Life will have it's ups and downs. Would it even be worth it if it wasn't challenging?
We made it to convention🙌🏼 So grateful to be in Salt Lake with so many oil lovers! There are almost 40,000 people, from all over the world, that come to the dōTERRA convention every year! It’s truly amazing to be around so many like-minded individuals! ✨My intention for this convention is to bring lots of product knowledge back to my costumers, become more grounded in my vision with dōTERRA, and be inspired to live an even more health conscious and fulfilled life✨

Yes! I love this. More so for the metaphorical meaning behind it. I mean, literally cleaning out a closet and letting go of stuff you don’t need can also be so good for the soul.
But in the bigger picture...letting go of what no longer serves you, is the best thing you can do for yourself! Whether that’s people, places, things, thoughts, behaviors, anything. It’s not selfish, it’s self care. By “serves you” I mean builds you up and fills your soul, gives you life and purpose and peace.
Are you holding on to people, places, things, behaviors, situations that don’t serve you? People pleasing and trying to be someone you’re not? These things are all holding you back from being your best self, your most AUTHENTIC self?! If so, LET. GO. It will be hard, yet feel so amazing. Move toward the people, places, things and behaviors that build you up, treat you right, value you, breathe life into you and make you feel at peace! Every day you spend holding on to those things is a day you don’t get back, a day you’re missing out on being your best self. Let go! You won’t regret it

Did YOU know...
Arugula has antioxidant benefits from glucosinolates and detoxifying power from enzymes. It’s an excellent source of fiber, vitamins A, C (to boost the immune system) and K (for bone strength), folate, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and manganese.
Arugula also provides high levels of protein, riboflavin, thiamin, zinc, vitamin B6, copper and pantothenic acid (vitamin B5). Its flavonoid content has multiple benefits: to lower inflammation, prevent cholesterol from sticking to arteries, manage high blood pressure levels, increase blood flow and improve blood vessel function.

Have you guys noticed how deliciously chilly the early mornings have been here in LA? I love it. 🍂
As the seasons change, you should think about incorporating more warming and nourishing foods into your diet. This beautiful bowl of porridge would be a perfect breakfast. Make sure you buy old fashioned slow cook oats - the instant stuff that comes out of packets is mostly sugar. Load it up with cinnamon and nutmeg, maybe some local organic honey for some sweetness or these gorgeous poached pears. 🍐
Eat well. be well.

, then I don’t know what is.
this beauty. 😭 straight up loving her kidscents mightypro (probiotic/prebiotic) supplements. gut health you guys- it’s linked to SO many other parts of your body. hormones, immune response, vitamin & mineral absorption, vitamin production, your ability to eliminate toxins. all that & more. & these taste like pixie sticks, so it’s hard for her to except that these are only taken once a day. #momwin
YES I do believe that time is a healer. I also believe that some separations are permanent and required for survival and growth. People say I'm cold because of how I "cut people off". In the past that hurt my feelings bcuz I'm not a mean person. I no longer defend that mischaracterization of ME becuz pruning is a necessity!!! It's hard work...and when you start removing the dead things...you find more dead things that need to go. Yeah you may have a few lonely , leaveless branches when you're done. BUT GOD!!!! Smh The beautiful thing is you're just getting started...now the good stuff..the healthy stuff the stronger stuff can grow! #mytestimony #survivor #grateful #betterdays #wellnessjourney #healthymind #bewell #pruning
As I sit here drinking coffee, I started thinking about the “SMALL moments” in life. Our day to day choices and how those play a huge role in shaping our life and who we are. See we think our lives are made up of monumental times, big events, such as getting married, having a child, new job, loved ones dying, meeting the love of your life, and so on. But what about everything that happens around those big events? Let me tell you something those small moments sum up to be the most at the end of your life. What you do in your day to day life, who you choose to spend time with, what you choose to eat, how you choose to react to the person next to you, or how we react to everyday life.
The small moments are the ones that count! Small day to day Acts of love and appreciation are way more meaningful than anything else, and are the ones that either make you or break you. Make the small moments count, enjoy them, understand them, Embrace them. - Learn to be present - Be mindful - Enjoy Today!
- Be grateful, living in gratitude is the key to success! - When looking at the big picture, remember that the small moments are the ones that usually lead to your full potential or goal.

➸ Life has been feeling pretty “heavy” lately so I’ve been focusing a lot on self-care & self-love and it’s been making things much more manageable! I always try to do my best to identify what the stressor is, learn from it and move on. Self care seems to be my answer of choice lately when it comes to stress! Who’s doesn’t love a good meditation or face mask! So today I’m starting the day with a positive mindset, a good cup of coffee, and some self love🤟🏼 What are your favorite things to help you deal with stress?! I’d love to hear from you 😃

have your attention... I've been thinking about some body positive issues that don't get much attention. I talked to psychologist Dr. Robin Henderson of @WellBeingTrust
about some deeper body positive questions. Like: is body stigma directed at us as children a kind of trauma? And more. Link in bio. #partner #BeWell
