Over the years, I’ve studied my ancestry and more recently, began to do some major healing work connected to my maternal and paternal lineages. It’s interesting to look at the tapestry of who you are based on the threads from which you’ve been woven. Next month, I will be giving a keynote lecture at the NANP Conference on ancestral eating traditions. As I began to put it all together, it became obvious to me, based on science and spirituality, how various cultures, their symbolism, and energy, connect to the #chakrasystem

Within functional medicine, we discuss using gene variants to plan someone’s eating pattern, but it seems that there’s been something obvious even more overarching and highly significant when creating a functional nutrition plan --- a person’s ancestral blend based on their DNA. I am not talking Paleo as that is too generic. I’m referring to eating according to your ancestral lineage, and having that be one of the many aspects that make up your eating.
