Street Yoga Advent Calendar - Day 15 A cobra has one tail, not two legs. 🐍 The cobra pose (#Bhujangasana ) is great - among other benefits - to strengthen your spine, stretch the chest, lungs, shoulders and abdomen and firms the buttocks. How to do it: Lie on the floor facing down, legs TOGETHER, feet flat on the floor and toes pointing away from you. Place your palms facing down next to your chest, elbows close to your body. Press the feet, thighs and pubis firmly into the floor. The Cobra pose has active legs. On an inhale stretch your arms to lift your chest from the floor, the pubis stays down. Do not push too hard into your hands, be gentle to your back and engage your core. Press your tailbone towards the pubis and lift the pubis towards your navel. Bring your shoulder blades together and open your heart. Hold for a few breath and release on an exhale. I didn’t realize how many people seem to be confused with the difference between upward facing dog (in this photo) and cobra (swipe left). So, in upward facing dog, which requires core and arm strength (and open shoulders), your hips are off of the mat and you’re basically holding yourself on the tops of your feet and your arms. In cobra, your hips are on the mat and possibly your abdomen too. How far up you go depends on you. I’m learning not to push myself up so hard with my arms so that the engagement comes from my core (the core is your abs and your back muscles too). São naturais...ninguém ensina isso p os animais.....e são naturais p nosso corpo também.....trazem conforto mental e um grande bem estar. Não sei se vcs já ouviram falar que as posições de Yoga tem tudo a ver com a natureza e os animais ; elas têm nomes de árvores, montanhas, rios e pp animais.... Vcs já notaram como os animais se espreguiçam? Eles se exercitam naturalmente se alongando, tensionando e super sabem relaxar.... Vejam a posição da cobra, do escorpião, do urso, cachorro, gato.... essas posições deveriam fazer parte da nossa vida como um movimento natural de descontração muscular e nervosa . São naturais...ninguém ensina isso p os animais.....e são naturais p nosso corpo também.....trazem conforto mental e um grande bem estar. Meu objetivo c esse post é inspira-las praticar Yoga.....não como uma ginástica p o corpo, mas como algo sagrado, que acalma nossa mente e nos conecta com a vida . Incorporar essas posições na nossa rotina é agradável e natural . Imitem os movimentos da natureza, espreguicem.....relaxem....isso vai ajudar muito a conquistar auto controle.... Controlar-se e conhecer-se é o que nos diferencia dos animais....é o que nos faz humanos. When I was first barely pregnant with Hollis my feet were finally just starting to reach my head. Now I’ve lost a lot of the quad strength and lower back flexibility that I worked so hard on. This is the same strength and flexibility that I need to get my feet to my head in scorpion.
