The skies in Big Bend are unreal. Dark Cloud Over Alsate, 2018, Dennis Blagg, Oil on canvas, 16 x 20”.
Big Bend is one of our favorite places on Earth. It’s so secluded, you can truly feel like you’re alone with nature 🏞😍 What’s the most secluded / remote place you’ve ever visited?
I recently contributed a few pictures about people placing coins or stones on military tombstones to acknowledge the people buried there. As this grave in the Chihuahua Desert shows, that’s not only a military custom. . . . #BigBend #bigbendnationalpark #NPS #Texas #shotoniphone
The great outdoors is greater with friends. Our first hiking trip together involved gale-force winds, an ice cold night, and a 3k ft climb and these two were still crazy enough to join us again for this trip :p. Per usual, things got unexpectedly wild, but luckily we didn't have to sacrifice anyone to a bear.
A little deer bidding us farewell. Good bye Big Bend! 🦌💕
The view from the Window. The rocks were very slippery and it was a long drop down, so this was the best picture I could get.
This unassuming, natural hot spring was so relaxing! We all soaked our feet after our long hike, even Michael. Right behind the hot spring is the Rio Grande and the opposite bank is Mexico.
Brett is dad of the year. Carried Michael on this almost 5 mile hike and risked falling in the water 😆. Luckily we all stayed dry.
Hiking with the dragonflies 💗🦋
The Santa Elena Canyon in Big Bend National Park. The left side of the canyon is Mexico and the right side is the United States. The Rio Grande runs through the middle. So beautiful.
Unfortunately, I deleted all my pictures from today, but at least I have this video.
