if you’re trying to reduce caffeine consumption - which can over stress the adrenals and liver - dandelion tea is an amazing alternative, and it tastes more like coffee than any other tea. Or if you’ve had your gallbladder removed, are having trouble digesting fat on a Paleo or low carb/high fat diet, or constipated, then dandelion tea is your new best friend. Dandelion is a cholagogue, which means it helps the liver synthesise bile, necessary for fat breakdown. This can assist the passage of food through the GI tract, and help prevent SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, common in IBS sufferers) as bile is antimicrobial. Increasing bile can also help seal a leaky gut, which is important in any autoimmune condition. Enough reasons for most of us to at least try it!
