The story of the fishermen
They will sail very late at night, head to nowhere, in the middle of the deep deep blue sea, with the sky as their roof for the whole night. It can be a gorgeous starry sky, or a dark and full of storms one. But yet, they’re still there, waiting. Waiting for the fishes to come along. They knew it’s very unpredictable kinda job, yet they went anyway. Some days, they will come home to their family with lots of fishes, that could probably fulfill their need for the whole week. But, some days, they came home with just some fishes for the next two days, and the others are going to the market so they can pay for other things.
They’ve got to face hard times in the ocean, when the sky was dark, and the only light that they had was that little lamp on the boat, sometimes it shined, but sometimes it didn’t. Sometimes they got cold caused by the storms for 3 hours straight, moved up and down on their boat, tried to hold on their lives because you know what? Because they always remember they have families to feed waaayy back at home.
They are the best learner of what’s so called patience. They left home with a faith that they will make it back to their home in the next morning, eventhough they knew it very well that they’re facing something that has zero certainty of being okay all the time.
They understand that they don’t have any control against the ocean, and they’re okay with it. Because for them, being in control all the time wouldn’t make them stronger fishermen. Sometimes, the storms, the high tides, the heavy rains, the strong winds, are the things that will teach them how to be real men.
They value their job as a part of their lives, which sometimes may be calm and wonderful, but the other times may be the other way around, rough and messy. Yet, it’s something to live up, isn’t it?
That is live. We don’t get to choose what conditions we will be in. We don’t have control over a lot of things. We could never ever know what will happen, even in the next 5 seconds. But we can always have something’s called HOPE.
Life is truly hard, sweetheart. Don’t ever lose hope. It has to be in your heart, forever and always ♥️
