On days like today when I truly feel like I can’t get aaaaaany bigger than I am in this moment, and I wonder how my body will EVER be mine again — Timehop pictures like this remind me that I can, and I WILL be able to do it! . I remember being so fearful that I would never get my body back after my first pregnancy. And in a way, I was right. My body is different - in some pretty amazing ways. It housed a CHILD - and is now housing round ✌🏻! . This photo was taken about a year after Addison was born — when I STILL hadn’t hit my pre-pregnancy weight! So ladies on the postpartum journey ——- It doesn’t happen over night. Your body will change. It will take consistency and effort. But it’s 110% POSSIBLE!!!! . I ate ice cream. I drank wine. I enjoyed my life! I also worked out 5x a week. Made healthy wholesome meals for my family. And consistently focused on achieving small goals. . And that’s EXACTLY what I plan to do after little lady number ✌🏻 joins us! . Don’t give up ladies, you can do it!!!
This is a wake up call to anyone who is unhappy, feels complacent; who needs a change physically, mentally and or financially. For people who believe they were destined for more than just a 9-5 or minimum wage. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In 2015 for my 22nd birthday I bought myself a business. Before I did that; I had the idea. I knew what I wanted to do and asked any and everyone to partner with me .. to share my journey and success. Everyone laughed, my own family doubted me .. no one took me seriously. Except 1 girl , 1 girl that ended up being my partner, ended up being my best friend, ended up sharing my success. We made profit each and every month, we were nominated for awards. We were thriving. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The only problem with that business is that life changed, I had a family, and if I wanted my business to succeed I had to be there .. I wasn’t willing to sacrifice time with my new family for money. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So here I sit today with another amazing opportunity, one that doesn’t require me to sacrifice that time with my family, one that has potential to actually better my life along with all the people around me lives. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I want to do better and be better. THREE WEEKS POSPARTUM✨ . The last three weeks have been the best kind of a blur. ❤️ Newborn snuggles, slow mornings at home with lots of coffee, getting in the nursing groove 🤱🏻, family walks to the park, six whole days of time with just Sam and I with Honey Bee🐝 and getting to know our girl while the boys were off adventuring at the farm, and now we’ve had a week of fun in the sun and in the lake at my aunt and uncles cottage☀️ (one of my fave places!) and living in this adorable @limericki bather - perfect for embracing the extra curve 💁🏻‍♀️ . We’re all a little sleep deprived and trying to find our “new normal” 🙃🤪 but I feel like I’m bouncing back a lot faster after this pregnancy than the other two. It’s been really encouraging to see that the strength and muscle definition I worked so hard for with two years of Queen @kayla_itsines BBG 💪🏻 didn’t disappear with nine months of less activity and a few extra bags of chips😬. I’m soft but strong, and I’m giving myself loads of grace this summer. I definitely have fitness goals (cut fat, tone up, build muscle etc), but my goals for right now are primarily to enjoy this summer with a newborn and the last summer before Finny starts school 😭😍❤️ . I did my first BBG workout yesterday (with doctors clearance!), Week 1 Legs + Cardio - what a doozy! Especially Tropical 🏝 -But every single time I put on my bathing suit (not a 👙, but a tankini with a skirt) or wore a long, flowing, rather forgiving skirt (because shorts were too uncomfortable) during my earlier “Mom Years,” I didn’t recognize myself. I felt like a stranger in my own body. I had been an athlete my whole life and never really struggled with my weight before. New scientific research 🤓 shows that eating Nutella with a spoon straight from the jar in your workout clothes is good for you (body and soul) AND equivalent to zero calories due to the wearing of said workout clothes with a good intention of actually doing a workout. 🙂🤗 🤣 • Note to self: do not believe everything that you read on the internet especially if it seems too good to be true. 🙃. I was a tad bit nervous going into the weekend bc I didn’t really know all my teammates all that well but that all changed after spending 2 hot, sweaty (no shower) days with my crew in van 2. Wow, my friends, I could not have asked for a stronger, more supportive, badass group of women on my team and I will be forever grateful for their fearless positive attitudes, laughs, strong personalities, and forever friendships made along the way!! As I get ready to leave for another coach trip I can’t help but think about the greatest gift this business gave me. The gift of truly understanding self-care. The Mom on the left was trying to be everything to everyone- the perfect wife, present Mom, serving daughter, listening friend, older sister- the list is endless. I was trying but failing miserably. I was missing the key to doing all of this- taking care of me. It’s more than just a pedicure, here or there, its taking care of your mind and body. Finding a quiet moment or two for yourself daily. Reading books that challenge your mindset. Surrounding yourself with people who push you to be better. The Mom on the right doesn’t have it all figured out. I’m still trying to balance it all. Somedays I’m successful other’s I’m just trying to make it to bed time. But I’m better. I’m healthy and I’m in a good space because I’ve learned how to take care of me so I can truly take care of others. I can’t wait to hug the women who have helped me learn this tomorrow. This week, Wednesday is Leg Day. Working on those booty gains as they say 😂 The past month I have struggled with legs as my thighs absolutely kill me when I squat. I’ve gone from squatting 23.5kgs to dropping way back to 16kgs. Only today have I felt good about my squat & not wanted to cry after every rep. I’m always amazed at the parenting advice people feel comfortable giving freely.... or the observations like “you’re hands sure are full” Today someone at Costco told me that I should really think about a child harness & leash for Cameron.... (I can’t imagine why 😂😂) ..... but then there are people who would judge if I had my child leashed like a dog 🤔 The first and best advice I ever got as a parent was to do things my way and to take others’ advice with a grain of salt.... Umbilical hernia surgery post-op was today. Friday will be 5 weeks. Today makes 11 weeks postpartum too... Everything is healing well. My right side has bothered me the most and she told me that’s where they had to cut into muscle... which explains a lot. Just doing a walking lunge kills on that side. There’s a hardness that you can see and feel around my belly button where the mesh was put. It’s fluids and blood that have hardened. There’s also still swelling and my bellybutton is still bruised. I was told the hardness will be there 6 months.... wahhhhh😫😢 I guess I’ll start rocking some high waisted leggings. I’m actually loving my curves and fuller figure. (I’m 150lbs) I don’t mind the extra. I do wish I had more control over my belly though. To better explain.... I can’t even suck it in if I try. It’s just there and hard from the surgery. Some days it hurts and some days I feel awesome. In answer to my story poll yesterday, does the abductor machine work your glutes... . About 40% said it does build your glutes, and the other 60% said it doesn’t... . I know we are all excited to get into the gym and apply everything we learn on instagram. BUT just because someone looks a certain way, doesn’t mean they are equipped with the knowledge to help others transform. Knowing your body, and the ability to build or learn someone else’s is very different. . I find that people on Instagram who look a certain way can do the craziest things in the gym and girls swoon thinking “YES!! That’s the magic pill I’ve been missing! I haven’t been simultaneously doing hip thrusts, pushups AND jumping jacks!!!!” 😂😂 crazier isn’t better. The basics are best. They lead to real results, not just someone who was blessed with awesome genetics to look a certain way with doing whatever type of results, but real results. 💁🏼‍♀️Let’s chat outsourcing! ⁣ ⁣ Usually when you think about outsourcing, you think about running a biz. You hire people to design a website. Hire another person to schedule meetings. Hire a bookkeeper..etc. ⁣ ⁣ It would be reallllly hard to run your business all alone. Think of all the time you’d waste doing the stuff you’re not that good at. Think of all the things you COULD have been doing to save you time+energy and make you more money in the long run! ⁣ ⁣ This got me thinking: being a mom is like running a biz. And usually, we want to do it ALL ourselves. We cook, clean, drop off, pick up, drive around, discipline, plan the schedule, plan the play dates. We honestly do it all. ⁣ ⁣ And at the end of the day, we have nothing left. We’ve given all we have to our kiddos and end up tired, and sometimes cranky, only to get up and do it all again. Add working a 9-5 on top of all that. Shit! 🤯⁣ ⁣ That’s why we need to invest in ourselves by OUTSOURCING. And maybe that means:⁣ ⚡️hiring a sitter so you can get a workout in ⁣ ⚡️ordering groceries to your doorstep so you can spend extra time with the kids ⁣ ⚡️hiring a coach to hold you accountable for your health+fitness goals ⁣ ⚡️hiring a cleaning lady once a month because, kids🙃⁣ ⁣ As moms, when we take the leap and invest in ourselves we become:⁣ 📍happier ⁣ 📍more productive ⁣ 📍more focused on things that matter ⁣ 📍healthier ⁣ 📍less stressed ⁣ 📍better mamas⁣ ⁣ Rant over! I remember, when the photographer sent my “Fresh 48” photos and as I looked at them I was in shock. I could not believe how big I was. During my second pregnancy I gained 60lbs and didn’t lose any weight after birth. With my first child I lost weight after birth and lost all of my pregnancy weight in roughly 1yr. I told myself I would not take as long to lose the weight and gave myself a goal of 9 months. I am happy to say that I am almost there but I’m not going to stop once the baby weight is off. I love the way keto makes me feel, especially the health benefits. Putting weight loss aside it has become a lifestyle for me. “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”. . My sister sent me this video she took Christmas of 2015 when we drove from Texas home to Idaho to surprise family. We decided last minute to do it, threw suitcases into the car, and drove in the middle of a snowstorm for three days to get there - and every bit of it was worth it for these kinds of moments. . My grandma sure looks beautiful here, and hearing her voice was pretty wonderful. Her birthday is coming up, and I just know she’s up in heaven probably elbow deep making food as service for someone. Long post alert I did it!!! I finished 80 Day Obsession this morning amid the chaos of getting ready for our trip. There was ZERO chance I wasn't going to get it done today! Guys!!! This has been the most amazing fitness program I have EVER done. And I was an absolute emotional wreck during the last few reps. Literally, tears streaming down my face 😭 You may find that ridiculous but the way this program was filmed in real time, you got to know each of the cast members. You watched their transformations. You saw them get stronger with you! And when you put so much of yourself, physically & mentally, into something for 80 days and it ends...I promise you will be feeling all the emotions too! It's like when your favorite tv show ends for the season 😂 Not only that but what I was able to accomplish in 80 Days has got me so thankful I chose this program. I lost 1 lb!!! You're probably thinking that isn't anything to brag about and I'm not...I was actually eating in maintenance so I wouldn't lose weight. I don't need to! What I did was drop body fat WHILE replacing with lean muscle 💪 and holy hell am I strong AF now! I have never had my upper abs pop like this! And don't even get me started on my butt 😂 I have never loved my butt and now I can't stop checking it out in the mirror! I'm so excited to rock my bikini on vacation 👙 My back and shoulders actually have muscle definition! Gosh, I am so PROUD of my body and what I put it through! I pushed myself harder than ever before and it really proves that your BODY is capable of what your MIND tells it to do! Our minds will give up far faster than our bodies will✌ Push through when it is tough. Be mentally strong and you will reap the rewards! This program has CHANGED my LIFE ❤ but onto the next one! Snacking a lot and treating myself to nightly 🍷. Thinking if I just workout harder or longer I’ll see the results I really want. Extra weight and fat was covering the toned muscles I was working so hard to shape. Right: Me working out (no more than 1 hour a day) and eating great food every 2-3 hours! Getting my head out of my butt and realizing my food choices matter more. No starving to lose weight. No cutting out food groups. No wine every night. Feeling absolutely amazin!!🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️ Listen Mama - no matter how hard we try, how much we run or how many crunches we do, we cannot and will not out-train a bad diet. Never have, never will. Had a great Leg Day and Core workout despite being slammed in the head after a pin failing on the cable track on my 4th set with 150lbs 🤕 OUCH! Also, this past weekend I let go of tracking macros and goodness was it amazing to not add any stress with everything else going on - all good things that is! I wanted to enjoy the weekend! With Jameson's birthday party and my brother and his family in town, I wasn't down with restriction/regiments. Not gonna lie - I ate cake, candy, burgers, pizza, etc. Did it set me back? Sure, maybe, after 3 days of it. Am I upset? At first but overall: Nope! Took the day off today and spending it with my little nugget (and her baby doll ☺️)! We went grocery shopping and LOVED how quiet and NOT busy it was 👏🏻👏🏻 compared to what it’s like on the weekends when we normally go. • I’m super introverted, and lots of people in one place makes me pretty stressed out. So it was really nice to just be able to stroll through the aisles and enjoy stopping and telling Charlee what everything was. She’s pointing at everything asking “What’s that?” And it’s so much fun to watch her learn and grow! • Now she’s napping, and I’m going to go lounge around with the pups to enjoy the rest of my afternoon off! 💕
