These are my favourite squats... box squats. Added my extra strong resistant band to really active the glutes and finally got me a lifting belt! It’s really helped support my back and has made me feel a lot more comfortable to lift heavier! Yay!! Best leg day everrrr... I’m definitely going to feel it tomorrow. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 #legday

🌸Barbell front squat- point toes slightly outwards, keep chest up and elbows high. Hinge from the hips and let the glutes fire to come back up. Press through your heel and push all the way up! 4x12
🌸Bulgarian split squats (drop set into jumps🔥)- make sure to find foot placement best for you! Keep the dumbbells at your sides, lower hips toward the ground, and push off the ground with your foot! 3x12 x 12-15jumps
🌸Pullthroughs- Begin the movement by bending at the waist and pushing your hips back towards the machine. Keep your spine neutral, push your hips back until you feel a nice stretch in your hamstrings. Pause for a second and reverse the movement by extending at the hips. Ensure that you squeeze and activate your glutes at the top of the movement. 4x12-15

Have you ever worked a muscle and thought through the lift “I just feel like I’m not engaging the muscle enough?”
That happened with me yesterday with kettlebell RDLs. I kept thinking the whole time “man Tera, hamstrings just aren’t feeling it today.” Well, flash forward to today and my hamstrings are sooooooooore. They were DEFINITELY engaged.
It’s a good proof point that as long as your form is on point, trust the you are hitting the exact muscles you need to.
Why didn’t I feel my hamstrings as much as I typically do? Could be a variety of reasons: I was focused on my grip because I rarely use 2 kettlebells for RDLs (typically just single leg work), I was thinking about glutes because I hadn’t worked them good in a week, the kettlebells were more than I typically hold so I was focused on keeping good form.
But as long as your form stays strong and consistent and your body is properly primed, you’re in a great position to see good muscle engagement. Stay strong in form!

YOU CANT GET BETTER AT EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME
As much as I wish I can say that you can gain muscle, lose fat, get stronger, and marry your Hollywood crush all in 3 months, that isn’t going to happen.
Sure, there are times in the gym where you might get a little leaner while putting on strength, but doing it all at once is not something to strive for.
The better plan? Focus on one aspect of your fitness for 1-2 months, then evaluate progress, then work to improve something else. This doesn’t mean you’ll LOSE strength, or lose muscle, but it will just stay at the same spot.
For example. If I want to build muscle, I might have to put being ridiculously shredded on hold, since building muscle requires you to be in a moderate calorie surplus.
So I would take 2 months to build muscle, and then take time to lean out again after that.
Becoming aware that you can’t do it all will set realistic expectations, and in turn help you get better results because you know what to expect.
