All those things will be dependent on the athletic goal - including power training in the old age, where we tend to lose that capacity Hip projection and landing mechanics are a non negotiable. 💥Oblique Focused Reverse Crunch💥 🎙SOUND ON🎙 - 🔹You want an ab exercise that is going to build strength, and improve stability in the low back, hips, and spine, and torch the obliques? - 🔹Enter the Oblique focused Reverse Crunch. This is a challenging variation of the Reverse Crunch that will not only blow up your lower abs, but it’s also going to blow up you obliques. - ➡️Hold on to something heavy behind you. As you get stronger you can try and lighten your grip and/or hold something not quite as heavy. ➡️Bend your knees, drop them to one side, and start squeezing your abs as hard as you can ➡️When you feel like you’ve hit a brick wall (part of the way up), don't give up - you squeeze even harder until your hips are all the way up ➡️Slowly with control lower the hips down to a complete stop. ➡️Go again. - ❌The video on the left is using all momentum to raise the hips up. Swing and up. - ✅The video on the right is all control. Squeezing the abs from a complete stop all the way up and slow and controlled down. - 🔹You may need a little ‘mo to help you at first, but focus on squeezing the life out of those abs, and you are well on your way. - 🔹3 sets, 6-8 controlled reps per side. Strict bar muscle up progressions: 1. Scapular depressions (can do with regular or false grip) 2. Regular pull ups. Focus on explosive and high pull and slow negative. 3. False grip pull ups. Go as high as you can. 4. Dips. Go as low as you can. 5. Dips with muscle up transition. Go as deep as you can into the transition while still being able to come back to front support. 6. Band assisted muscle ups. Can adjust the resistance as needed. 7. Muscle up negatives (in first clip). Go from front support to hanging as slow as you can. . . Hope this helps!! 😊 Fair warning, it took me about two years to get a strict bar muscle up. Pumpkin Flaxseed Porridge! Yum! Today's harvest mix cereal was sooo good! 99 Calories for this very filling and tasty hot cereal, 9g protein, 10g carbs, and 3g fat, 5g fiber. This is very high in potassium, vitamin A and vitamin C. My breakfast mix today based on what I need to round out my macros was as follows:. 1/2 Cup cooked riced cauliflower 1 TBSP Milled flaxseed .25 Scoop cookies and cream protein powder 1/4 Cup pumpkin puree Water to the desired thickness For the spice mix to be added to taste as you may not want all of this in your cereal, because it would probably be a bit much: 2 tsp Ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp Ground cloves 1/2 tsp Ground nutmeg Optional: I treated myself with some chopped pecans and a dab of ready whip light. Sweeten with Waldon Farms Pancake Syrup to taste. I greatly enjoyed this warm harvest mix with the rest of my breakfast.
