A gutted, empty, purpose-less #boeing747
We have a fundraising concept:
We want to paint a Boeing 747-400 aircraft. Yes. That's right. A decommissioned, gutted, very spacious and very plain (pun not intended) 'Queen of the Skies' aircraft. This is the variant of Jumbo Jet we all know, and that takes terminally ill children ona trip of a lifetime. We have our eye on an aircraft amongst those that rest in the aircraft boneyards in Nevada and other parts of America. Where they lay quiet, not rusting...but not doing anything of present value. Bobby used to be a flight attendant, and always wanted to find a way to make the link between cabin crew, artist and campaigner. This is the start.
This aircraft will serve as a memorial and commemorative pilgrimage for families of terminally ill children who have been on this life changing flight. These miniature heroes are flown out to Disney World, Orlando once a year. This event is only possible through @dreamflight_official
and partnerships with airline companies, medical professionals amd alot of collaborative efforts. And it doesn't happen frequently enough.
It costs over £1million to coordinate a Dreamlight. And fundraisng often happens through a variety of platforms. So what if we tried something new, to create a real amount of attention and get as many people talking about it as possible. Bobby wants to use the concept of DYB and apply it to a new canvas.
The plan? A fundraising campaign. One that is developed from the framework of DYB#1
. For every £1 donated (or suitable amount after consultation) artists will paint a square metre of the exterior space of a 747. This will enable spray paint and paint companies like POSCA, Montana, Grog, Sharpie...any art supply company really, to donate materials and promote their own company in the process. Let's be clear. Charity is always a good cause but we need the influence and support of those who have more to give. Finding a muualistic relationship between business and charity is difficult. So a symbiotic or mutualistic basis is essential.
