Bruton Church Cemetary, Williamsburg VA••• This cemetary is home to multiple restless ghosts! The first ghost was the wife of one of the Pastors. While her husband was away, she fell ill. He rushed to her deathbed and prayed that she would wait to move on until he dies so they could go to heaven together. He left again shortly after her passing. Congregation members reported seeing her in church pews and in the church garden, as if she was waiting for him just like he asked. When he returned to the church, he brought his NEW wife with him. This angered his first wife and her spirit began to act out. To make matters worse, the pastor buried his 2nd wife between he and his 1st wife so they were separated even in death. People can still hear her wailing at night. She often plays the organ, throws papers, and closes the drapes in the church. ••• The image of this grave stone is in the Bruton Church Cemetary. Beneath it lies a good friend of author and poet #EdgarAllenPoe
. The grave was struck by lighting one night, which resulted in the skull-shaped shadow! Typical poe... making statements even from beyond the grave!
