👔💣 Back to school

I just finished 'How to be Married,' by Jo Piazza. If you are looking for a light summer non-fiction this fits the bill!
She traveled around the world talking about marriage with all kinds of people from very different cultures during her engagement and first year of marriage. .
What a way to navigate all of those emotions and questions!
It's a fabulous read that is engaging, humorous, and very personable. As an old married lady I highly recommend it. It would make a great engagement gift!
The New Girl by Ingrid Alexandra. Oh my god oh my god. This booked had me gripped from the first page. I thought it sounded good, but my god it’s better! I don’t want to say too much, spoilers and all! Just read it. Highly highly recommend x
If you haven't yet read Trent Dalton's remarkable debut novel, Boy Swallows Universe, then I suggest that time has come. An Australian debut that will have you gobsmacked and gushing with praise. This is one that we'll be talking about for a long time and I've no doubt it'll end up one of those very rare things known as an Australian classic... and thus, really excited to be doing it for our next Bookclub... BOY SWALLOWS UNIVERSE
Brisbane, 1983: A lost father, a mute brother, a mum in jail, a heroin dealer for a stepfather and a notorious crim for a babysitter. It's not as if Eli's life isn't complicated enough already. He's just trying to follow his heart, learning what it takes to be a good man, but life just keeps throwing obstacles in the way - not least of which is Tytus Broz, legendary Brisbane drug dealer.
But Eli's life is about to get a whole lot more serious: he's about to meet the father he doesn't remember, break into Boggo Road Gaol on Christmas Day to rescue his mum, come face to face with the criminals who tore his world apart, and fall in love with the girl of his dreams.
A story of brotherhood, true love and the most unlikely of friendships, Boy Swallows Universe will be the most heartbreaking, joyous and exhilarating novel you will read all year. 'Trent Dalton is the most extraordinary writer - a rare talent. A major new voice on the Australian literary scene has arrived.' Nikki Gemmell 'An astonishing achievement. Dalton is a breath of fresh air - raw, honest, funny, moving, he has created a novel of the most surprising and addictive nature. Unputdownable.' David Wenham 'I couldn't stop reading from the moment I started, and I still can barely speak for the beauty of it. Trent Dalton has done something very special here, writing with grace, from his own broken heart.' Caroline Overington 'Enthralling - a moving account of sibling solidarity and the dogged pursuit of love.' Geoffrey Robertson QC 'Stunning. My favourite novel for decades. Left me devastated but looking to the heavens.' Tim Rogers

Just about to enter hour 14 for the #24in48
readathon⏱! While I would’ve loved to reach the full 24, there’s clearly just not enough time left in the day to accomplish that🤷🏻♀️. That’s ok though! This is supposed to be fun and I’m loving all the reading I’ve gotten done this weekend📚. Last year I completed 15hrs, so I’m excited of to get beyond that🙌🏼
Ready to finish out strong with a face mask🧖🏻♀️, some more water💦 and The Last Time I Lied by @riley.sager
. What books are you closing the readathon out with?!
This is Jose @annelidical
he is a children's author and illustrator among many things. He is multi talented in a ton of mediums even spinning records. He also works as a children's art instructor and is always willing to help fellow artist when he can. He is probably one of the nicest people you would want to meet. If you want you can go check out his humble and modest profile. .
From now on every Sunday I will be posting about one artist who has a positive impact on OUR artist community. .
I encourage others to do the same using #socialartistsunday
so we can all explore other great artist in this community. This is SOCIAL MEDIA it's not always about you. Share someone you respect and tell us why they are making the art world better.
This is not a "go follow" this person type post. This is so we can learn more about other artist and build broader relationships in the community. Follow if you connect in some way.
Also if you have not had a conversation with someone through DM on social media you are doing it wrong!
Don't be shy! Pass it on! There is still time today!
Who do you appreciate?
Finally got around to reading a Little Fires Everywhere and wow did it live up to the hype! This has been on my tbr since last year and it wasn't until a lady in my local Barnes and Noble raved about Celeste Ng's writing that I finally picked it up. Let's just say I'm so happy I did and can't wait to read her other novel Everything I Never Told You. 🔥
Does anyone else have books on their tbrs for months on end? 🔥
What finally makes you pick them up? 🔥
Let’s get to know this month’s author a bit more. GOGs across the country are currently reading “the changeling” by victor lavalle. Mr. Lavalle has written several other novels and short stories. ✨

post for your summer reading pleasure. Sweetbitter was a tough read because for the first half of the book I felt like it had no real plot, but it definitely was an interesting read. Especially if you’ve ever worked in a restaurant before! 7️⃣ out of 🔟 🍷✨
FINALLY - my crinoline-tipping, condom-washing, fiance-fining, GI-jigging, wartime wall-jobbing story of love, marriage and everything in between comes out on Audible this WEDNESDAY.
It's perfect if you don't have the time or patience to stick with a history book but would still love the feminist and frisky 101 on why we love the way we do now.
Pre-order now, link in bio!
Omg this cold weather is killing me!
Who else is looking forward to summer (and sick of seeing people on insta on amazing holidays in Europe!!!!!) 😂😂😂😩😩😩
