Ashley Keller is a new(ish) mom and just trying to get her life together. It seems like all the other moms have perfect Pinterest crafts, perfect bodies, and spotless houses- so what is wrong with Ashley? She signs up for a “mommy bootcamp” to try to get her butt in gear- will it work?
Y’all this book is seriously HILARIOUS. I’m not a mom but I am definitely a hot mess so I could relate....especially to this quote!
“Note: I’m doing my best to get my spending under control, but it’s hard when: (1) Target is life and (2) spending money is my love language.”
i’m sorry i’ve been really busy and i’ll start posting more i promise

If you haven't picked up her book 'Girl, Wash Your Face' you probably should. 10/10 would recommend.

Some moments in a life, and they needn't be very long or seem very important, can make up for so much in that life; can redeem, justify, that pain, that bewilderment, with which one lives, and invest one with the courage not only to endure it, but to profit from it; some moments teach one the price of the human connection: if one can live with one's own pain, then one respects the pain of others... ~ James Baldwin
“Como a vida é engraçada, né? Bem na hora em que você pensa que está tudo resolvido, bem na hora em que você finalmente começa a planejar alguma coisa de verdade, se empolga e sente como se soubesse a direção em que está seguindo, o caminho muda, a sinalização muda, o vento sopra na direção contrária, o norte de repente vira sul, o leste vira oeste, e você fica perdido. Como é fácil perder o rumo, a direção...”

How it all begins...
One White Rose Wednesday
"Però c'è qualcosa che conosco in quest'ansia dell'irrevocabilità, quest'angoscia nel sentire che tutte le scelte che avevi adesso sono solo porte chiuse per sempre dietro di te e ora ne rimane solo una, come delle mille cose che potevi essere, come se ti togliessero un pezzo di quello che eri e ti lasciassero con un buco in mezzo al petto che non potrai mai più riempire." #zerocalcare #macerieprime #baopublishing #fumetti #bookquotes
“I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.” -Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice
“She could go on into infinity, and yet she understood that knowing another person was not a stable condition. Knowing was kinetic, ineffable, and it had limits, but the precise location of those limits, the moment at which the knowing stopped and the not-knowing began, was invisible. You would know you had reached the border only after you had surpassed it.”
-Laura van den Berg, The Third Hotel
The Third Hotel is super atmospheric and keeps the reader guessing, but relies heavily on metaphysics and the delusional, frantic ramblings of an unreliable/unwell narrator. This might be be a fun one to pick apart in an English lit class (a la The Turn of the Screw), but for me as a lone reader, it leaves too much open to interpretation and doesn’t come to a satisfactory resolution or explanation in the end. Overall, it didn’t feel like reading time well spent.

200 pages in, Tom Jones is a delight. The eighteenth century is way more interesting than the nineteenth, and I was wrong to ever think otherwise. “In like manner, the excellence of the mental entertainment consists less in the subject than in the author's skill in well dressing it up.” #bookstagram #books #bookquotes #reading #literature #1700s #eighteenthcentury
“I look up at the sky, wondering if I'll catch a glimpse of kindness there, but I don't. All I see are indifferent summer clouds drifting over the Pacific. And they have nothing to say to me. Clouds are always taciturn. I probably shouldn't be looking up at them. What I should be looking at is inside of me. Like staring down into a deep well. Can I see kindness there? No, all I see is my own nature. My own individual, stubborn, uncooperative often self-centered nature that still doubts itself--that, when troubles occur, tries to find something funny, or something nearly funny, about the situation. I've carried this character around like an old suitcase, down a long, dusty path. I'm not carrying it because I like it. The contents are too heavy, and it looks crummy, fraying in spots. I've carried it with me because there was nothing else I was supposed to carry. Still, I guess I have grown attached to it. As you might expect.” ― Haruki Murakami, What I Talk About When I Talk About Running
I believe I found a new favorite Murakami book 🖤

“I have a paperback heart
dog-eared and creased by the world
The colors are faded
and the spine is worn
but I’m glad to see
it’s finally in good hands.”
Alex is one of the very few people who can make me feel this way all the time. I smile bigger, laugh louder, and love harder because of this man. Alex forces me to get out of my comfort zone. He holds my hand and tells me I’m beautiful. He infuriates me and then makes me laugh hysterically. I couldn’t ask for a better man to spend happily ever after with.

"This World we Live in" By Susan Beth Pfeffer.
11/10 would read again, I read it in less than 4 days and I HIGHLY recommend it for people that like dystopian based books. Its only 239 pages! It's just one of those books where I just wanted to keep reading. Sadly it ended *sigh* onto the next book! (Apperently Im doing book reviews now... Deal with it 😁📚)

My favorite quote from this book: "Trust in tomorrow. Everyday lf your life, there's been a tomorrow. I promise you, there'll be a tomorrow."
This concludes Emma's random book review! Have a good day! 😁
(The author also has two other books which seem really good aswell so you might see random book reviews of those... Just warning you)
