“i know now that i don’t want to love or be loved in half measures. i want it all, and to have it all, you have to risk it all.”
qotd: who’s your favorite character from the tatbilb trilogy? 💭 i love lara jean so much, but peter kavinsky holds a special place in my heart.
the tatbilb trilogy will always be one of my favorite series of books. i love the characters, the romance, and the family dynamic so much. i themed all of these photos around objects that reminded me of lara jean and i really love how they turned out! ✨
He looks up at me with his night-colored eyes, beautiful and terrible all at once. “For a moment,” he says, “I wondered if it wasn’t you shooting bolts at me.”
I make a face at him. “And what made you decide it wasn’t?”
He grins up at me. “They missed.”
- Holly Black, The Wicked King (The Folk of the Air, #2
Last day I finished reading The Wicked King and I am totally in love 😍. It is my first five starts read of the year!
When I started reading the book it took me a little to get invested, but when I did I totally loved what I was reading.
What I loved:
- The book is really political, with a lot of intrigues and dramma, that personally I love.
- The setting. I really like the fairy world, but maybe this is one of the more interesting, because fairies aren’t the good of the story, they are the bad or the moral grey, but nothing more.
- Jude. I liked her in the first book, but in this I totally fell in love with her. She is so strong and badass and she does everything only because she want to be loved, to be important and find her place in this extravagant world.
For all the reading I felt her emotions: anger, pain, sadness, the desire to destroy the world. A lot of times I would have loved to enter in the book for hug her.
- Jude and Cardan. What a ship! I liked them in the first, but in this one I am totally obsessed. Every single scene between this two is pure perfection.
- The ending. This is a perfect ending! Full of plot twists that put everything in game again. I guessed one before the reading but the other really surprised me.
- I would LOVE (yes, in big writing) to have Cardan‘s pov in the next book. I need to understand what happens in his mind!
Thanks to my Waterstones’ copy I had the chance to read few pages on his pov and I need more!
❓A female character that recently conquered your heart?

REVIEW: ⭐⭐⭐ 3.5/5
Overall, I enjoyed this. White captured the feel of Buffy really well, especially the humor and witty comments. Nina was an interesting character and I felt for her throughout the story. By the end I was really rooting for her. My main complaint is that there is so much Buffy hate in about 75% of the book. I know that this takes place after the season 8 graphic novel, which I didn't read, but it just felt like an attack on Buffy. "Buffy ruined everything," "this is all Buffy's fault," "I hate Buffy," and so on. It let up in the last 100 pages, but it was annoying as a fan. There was also little character development aside from Nina, but I think that will improve as the series continues.
TLDR: if you're a huge Buffy fan that just wants to get back into the universe, it's worth reading. If you've never seen the movie or the show, I would watch those first.

If you do this you are dead to me
We are excited to reveal our cover for HARD MOUTH by Amanda Goldblatt, publishing in August 2019!🌲"Hard Mouth's surprises chase each other down like dominoes, both in plot and language. Goldblatt masters the balance of the epic and the personal, the adventurous and the introspective. I clung to every page." —Jac Jemc, author of The Grip of It and False Bingo 🔸 @aegagegage
Writing this year has been spectacular! I’m working on several projects, some secret and some coming soon. But it’s been so exciting I’ve been pumping out 2-3,000 words a day! What is happening!? Currently I’m pouring through edits of the second book in the Legend of the Nameless One series, Realm of Mortals, which is due out next month. Can you believe it 😱
In the meantime autographed copies are on sale. Grab one here: https://angelajford.com/product/realm-of-beasts-autographed-paperback/
In 2019 I will read more biographies.
I love reading books. Every year I try to make an effort to read more. In just these last three months, I'm proud to say that I've read about 15 books. Definitely a step up from the beginning of 2018.
But, I don't read enough biographies and I want to fix it this year. Below are some biography books that I have already read and recommend and some that I am planning to read in 2019.
Don't forget to bookmark this post to reference them later on!
Call me Ted by Ted Turner - brilliant advertiser, creator of CNN, one of the richest men in America. Heard great things about this autobiography and am planning to read it soon!
Shoe Dog by Phil Knight - amazing story of belief in doing the right thing and perseverance by the Nike founder (I love my Nike's!) Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson - fascinating read about Steve Jobs's intensity and passion that created iconic products and movies of our time.
Screw It Just Do It by Richard Branson - legendary Virgin Group's CEO short stories and lessons from his life and business journeys. Inspiring and a fun read.
Leonardo Da Vinci by Walter Isaacson - another incredible biography by Isaacson. Da Vinci was a very curious and imaginative person and even discovered planes long before they were invented by the Wright brothers.
Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg - not quite a biography, but an interesting read about women in the workplace and equality. Sandberg shares a lot of her personal stories and examples.
Becoming by Michelle Obama - probably on everyone's reading lists since it came out in late 2018! Empowering, inspiring autobiography about ups and downs from the former US First Lady.

Alright, favorite book boyfriends...go!!
One of my favs is Thomas from the Stalking Jack The Ripper series which it happens to be his bday today! 😘 If you haven't read those books yet, you're missing out.
But I don't want my other book boyfriends to get jealous so of course I've gotta mention Rhysand from ACOTAR 🔥 because he's the king of book boyfriends. Then the Darkling and Will/ Jem ( cause you just can't choose between them.)

”And I suggest to you also, that your spirit grow in curiosity, that your life be richer than it is, that you bow to the earth as you feel how it actually is, that we - so clever, and ambitious, and selfish, and unrestrained - are only one design of the moving the vivacious many.”
- A Thousand Mornings, Mary Oliver.
Book 3 of 2019.
Could you recollect the first time ever, when you ran outside as it started to rain? And the last time you did that?
Do you still attempt to compete with the sunrise for mornings, or catch up with sunsets over a coffee?
Are you getting better at your score of stars that you have counted, or at your constellation drawings?
When did you last walk barefooted on dew sprinkled grass, or inhaled the freshness of mountain air so deeply that your lungs could hold no more?
Have you atleast come to a decision, whether it is the sea or the mountains, that calls out to your soul?
Do you listen to the yapping of the small unknown birds outside your window every morning, or the buzzing of insects in the night’s silence?
No. We are all too busy with our lives.
But if we do, and when we do,
I am quite sure that we would not just be able to write poetry falling in love everyday,
But be Poems ourselves.
Just like Mary Oliver herself.
Wonder what it takes, to retain such innocence and grace through decades, to be able to share such thoughts, profound and simple at the same time.

We’re back to hell weather which means feeling terrible the entire day 😊
Do y’all like summer? I have to admit I don’t care for it ONE SMALL BIT.
To właśnie jej postanawia powierzyć swój największy sekret."

To książka prosta i chyba właśnie dlatego wiarygodna. To naprawdę urocza i pełna ciepła historia, którą warto poznać.
🇬🇧 Have you read something by Margaret Atwood?
Saga by Brian K. Vaughan & Fiona Staples (graphic novel). Star Wars meets Game of Thrones. Is that enough for you? Two aliens from warring factions have a baby and flee across the galaxy to escape capture, torture, and death. At its core, Saga is a Romeo & Juliet story on a galactic scale. BKV is my favourite comic book writer mostly for his witty pop-culture references. But he does one thing better than anyone else: he leaves a cliff hanger at the end of almost every page. You will destroy volume 1 in a single sitting and be looking for more (there are currently 9 volumes). The art by Fiona Staples 🇨🇦 is unequalled in imagination and is second to none when it comes to conveying character emotion. RATING: 5/5 stars. RECOMMENDED FOR: every single fan of Star Wars and anyone who wants a starting point for adult-aimed comics that don’t involve superheroes. IF YOU LIKED THIS YOU’LL LIKE: Y: The Last Man by Brian K. Vaughan (graphic novel).
