Authenticity is everything. Especially in modern day business. With the thick layer of cheesy sales pitches that cloak nearly everything we read, finding authenticity is equal to a masters degree in investigative journalism😆 It is rare. Admittedly, I have always been aware of the dilemma of living in a branded world. But when you are a #believethegood
kinda person, seeing behind the rose-coloured veil can sometimes feel like a crushing blow 😔Lately, there have been a few key places where I hang out online, people that I follow & have adored, who have shown very non-authentic, but very real, true colours💔People who have claimed to do their work for the growth of others, so invested in your transformation, but in the end, have only wanted the injection of your money💔 People who have worked themselves to the lofty level where they don’t need to spend time investing in others any longer. Where brand, image & money have taken the front seat in an industry that is sold on promising success stories💔 And it breaks my heart. It angers me. It saddens me😟 It also strengthens my resolve to not follow that well worn path ➡️What is the purpose of creating a business for people, if you don’t intend to be about the people? ➡️What is the morality behind selling emotional connection, but focusing on financial gain? ➡️What is the fulfilment in making money by being you, if you are never truly being you?➡️ Maybe, just maybe, after all my years in business, I am still naive about the need for true authenticity❔Perhaps I am still childlike in my belief that lying for the sake of a sale is the worst kind of money grab. It could be my ignorance that I see a world of #ladybosses
who show their true selves, help others & love the thrill of bringing transformation to the life of another, over the thrill of their bank account growing by millions. But hey, I’ve always been a dreamer🤷♀️
Tell me, what do you think? Authenticity in business or anything for a sale?
