@bar.darling in downtown Montreal is open during the day as a coffee shop. The space transforms from day to night simply through the natural lighting that big windows provide. The design consultant describes it as "a little bit of art déco, industrial and steampunk." Some events do lights similar to these on the floor, however, I think it would be fun to hang the lights from the ceiling similar to this. I also love the addition of plants and antique lights.
Do you think this interior design works for a night or daytime party?

A question I ask myself a lot, not because I regret decisions or actions but because I understand how life can change from one second to the next.
When I was born in Nairobi, I was born into an Indian family that holds a very common gujarat/desi last name: Desai. When my mum (of Spanish/Italian heritage and very fair skinned) gave birth to me, the nurses labeled me as the musungu baby (musungu means white in Swahili) but my mum insisted I looked just like a monkey. I was taken to the nursery room and somehow mistaken for another family's baby-because of my last name. When my mom was handed the other Desai baby she insisted that that was not her baby; that her baby looked like a monkey. She ran around the hospital and eventually found me and convinced the mother holding me that I was her baby monkey. The mother had just woken up from a caesarean so had yet to see her baby; and was somehow convinced by my mum that the babies had been switched. In other words, I was switched at birth and then, thankfully unswitched.
Sometimes I wonder what my life would be like, what I would be like as a person and what I'd be doing in life at this moment if I had never been unswitched...would we have figured it out?🤔

There are a lot of worthy organizations to support in the coffee world but few may be as important these days as @coffee.kids...for the simple fact that it represents the next generation of farmers and growers..without whom we will be unable to sustain the beverage we all love every day. Given the challenges facing coffee growing communities, from having enough money to live year-to-year to concerns over the ever-changing climate in coffee lands, we wanted to do our part to help, however small. For a limited time we are offering a special dark roast coffee from Honduras 🇭🇳, a Youth Empowerment Coffee we purchased last Fall...in partnership with our friends from @interamericancoffee in Providence, RI. Visit bluefirecoffee.com today and enjoy this great cause coffee! FREE SHIPPING as always. To find out more about the Youth Empowerment Coffee Program and the fabulous work of Coffee Kids see link in bio. #bluefirecoffee#specialtycoffeeforthemasses#coffeeintegrity#coffeekids#nextgeneration

▪️Spring Break Series ep. 6 “Learn”▪️
One of our learning activities was to watch and discuss the documentary “13th.” This sparked a wide range of emotions in our group and deeply impacted us all. This film explores the intersection of race and justice in the US, in light of the 13th amendment.
We would love for you to watch this as well and enter into this learning experience with us! You might feel angry, sad, helpless or something else, but we doubt you will feel ambivalent.
This documentary is available on Netflix, check the link in our bio to learn more!👆🏼
@sowaboston Open Market in Boston, MA
Every Sunday from May 6th-October 28th, people from all over Massachusetts come to this celebration of local artists, farmers, chefs, brewers and musicians. Next to the food trucks, I found this chalkboard wall installed to inspire SoWa attendees to leave a mark. I think this is a great idea to have at an event. Words related to the event could be painted in the middle and chalk left for attendees to leave a message or drawing.
Do you think this is too messy? Do you think adults would find it too childish?

Hey everyone!!! I would like to interest you all in an awesome opportunity. On Wednesday, April 4th, from 7 to 9 PM in the Metcalf Ballroom there will be an Interfaith Charity Dinner to raise money and awareness for cancer treatment and research! All proceeds will go directly to the Dana Farber cancer institute right here in Boston as CAS Stugov is proudly funding the event. There will be performances, presentations, raffles, a sit-down dinner, and activities designed to directly impact those in need! Over the past few months, I've been blessed to work with several religious and cancer groups on this project and I can't wait to make a difference!
