Meet Leo Aquino! Leo is a sophomore in biomedical engineering and a student advisor for EK100! He likes mentoring because he thinks that it is “the best way I personally can give back to a community that has shown me all the love and support I need. Also, it’s just a lot of fun!” 🎉 And, as the youngest of 4 siblings, he always wanted a younger sibling, so being a mentor lets him feel like a big brother. 👯♂️ His family is his greatest inspiration, specifically his mom and dad. Outside of engineering, Leo is a member of @bufsa
and is an intern at @admithubhq
! In his free time, he likes to work out 🏋️ and bake banana bread. 🍌✨ #societaleng #engineering #bostonuniversity
The research class for music was over today but my research for health has been continued.
✨IMPACT STORY: Prayer✨
"I used to be skeptical about prayer because it never seemed like God was listening. However, this past year was transformational for me in terms of my relationship with the Lord and my outlook on prayer.
In March, I went on the spring break trip with the Navigators, but had an unexpected problem come up with a project that almost kept me from going and created stress while I was away. During the trip, I remember just telling Dave how worried I was and he prayed for me. At that point, I was going along with whatever because I was desperate…in the most desperate sense of the word. I’m a journalism major, so instead of tests and projects, we were writing articles for a local newspaper. A particular source wasn’t cooperating, and I was super worried. But Dave prayed, and he has one of the clearest phone lines to God I’ve ever seen, and after we returned from Chicago, I found that God had 1. provided a new source (someone to interview for my story) and 2. this source was 1,000% better than the original source I wanted to interview.
This was such a pivotal moment in my life and my relationship with Jesus, and opened a conversation between me and him that resulted in several transformational experiences this past year and has culminated in my decision to move to France!! And I am incredibly grateful that the Lord used Dave to show me how to give God everything with open hands and eager hope, and that God is always listening.“

🌟Our Current Student🌟
Raphael Uriel Samuelson Dossou is a student in the intensive 12-week 25 hours English program. Originally from Gabon in central Africa, he chose CELOP to learn English under the influence of his three sisters and one brother, who all have spent their time at CELOP and really like it here. 😍
- What would you tell someone who is thinking about studying at CELOP but is unsure?🧐
- “I would tell him/her to come here without hesitation because I’ve done many different programs, such as the Oxford Royale Academy, to learn English but CELOP is one of the best. The staff and teachers here try their best to help the students and make them as comfortable as possible.”❤️

15 months after taking this photo at Boston University and as a car passenger passing through Connecticut, I find myself researching and writing about these memorable clouds for a homework assignment in my “Landscape, Climate, and Humans” class. | #clouds #bostonuniversity #bu #climate #landscape #skyview #cloudyday

features Selvin Marroquin, Administrative Coordinator to the Vesalius and PhD program. Selvin started his Masters in Public Health in September 2018 at BUSPH and started working for the Department a month later. He is pictured here with Scruffy, his dog, and Bella, his cat. What do you like about the Department?: “I like the fact that we have some of the brightest, leading scientists in the field, and they'll casually chat with you about the amazing work they're doing ... everyone is so warm and friendly.” Hobbies: “I LOVE adrenaline. Rollercoasters: baby stuff. Bungie jumping: done it. Parasailing: cute. Next thing: Skydiving.” Selvin can draw, paint and play the cello, as well. Fun Fact: “I moved to Boston in August from LA and I'm absolutely dreading my first "real" winter. I miss the beach.” When you see Selvin this winter, remind him that summer will be here soon!

through our #EarlyDecision
program. With the Early Decision 2 deadline approaching (January 2, 2019!), learn why applying early may be the right option for you.
Meet our first Early Bird, Alec Chan (CAS’21), who says that at BU, “Not only will you be able to do research and have internships across campus, you will also be able to find the group that you belong in. Eventually, BU and the entire BU community will become your home.”
