by Mary Emily Eaton for Nathaniel Lord Britton & Joseph Nelson Rose, 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙖𝙚, Vol. 3 (1922). The illustrations in 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘢𝘦 are based on original paintings by Eaton that were reproduced via chromolithography by the Baltimore firm A. Hoen & Co. Eaton was a staff artist at NYBG for around two decades, until 1932. In addition to being the principal illustrator for Britton & Rose's work, she was also the principal illustrator for the Botanical Garden's journal 𝘈𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘢.
