ₓDopo tre anni
ₓ all’inizio dell’estate
monday starting great with delicious pancakes 🥞🍊
One of my favourite photos of some very early botanic pots. I’ve been lamenting lately that my painting style has changed so much in the years since I don’t quite remember how I achieved the colour mixing and density here anymore ☹️ Any other makers have this problem?
After a busy day at school, relax in the dahlia garden❤️
Sisters from another mister! 👯♀️ satin pothos (top) vs. silver satin pothos (bottom). These two are a bit confusing and the internet is giving me all sorts of answers but Am I correct in thinking that the satin pothos (scindapsus Pictus exotica) is a philodendron and the silver satin pothos (scindapsus pictus trebi) is a true potho? Help me out... these twos has got me scratching my head! #theplantvisual
In today’s world we all seek the need to control- but we simply can’t control everything. Sometimes we’re too busy, or sometimes the higher powers have it all aligned for us- but overall we just need to let go and trust that what will be will be (que sera sera). The beauty of Balaur Atelier is the relief you receive of having to scroll through pages of bland arrangements online. You simply shoot us a message on whichever outlet you find us, tell us 2-3 colors you like and if you have any specifics you need. We will design a unique, beautiful piece of artwork delivered straight to your door. Think of it as a flower concierge. There are few surprises left in this day and age, so let us surprise you with our exclusive arrangements. As creative perfectionists with a passion for flowers, we only aim to please- and not only does the recipient get a beautiful surprise, you do too! ❤️
Sometimes what is fuzzy is what is really the most clear.
Monachopsis: The subtle but persistent feeling of being out of place.
I had this feeling for a long time after college. I'm the kind of person who definitely gets a long with a lot of different kinds of personalities and quirks, but I never really felt like I belonged anywhere. I was always on the hunt for my "perfect fit". The out of place feeling was subtle. It didn't keep me awake at night. I just knew what I didn't want. I thought I wanted to work in fashion, but slowly realized that my passions were calling me elsewhere. They were calling me to the home. To create. To help make a house feel like a home. .
I slowly made moves in my life to make this happen. Finding my niche didn't happen overnight at all. It started with a tumblr account, reposting things I found inspiring and interesting. Architecture I loved. A beautiful photograph. Then it began by weaving again and making things. I found a new job that inspired me in the right areas of my interests and goals, surrounded by the raddest people on the planet. And now, here we are. .
I'm still growing, learning, developing my craft, finding myself, and finding where I belong. While I'll probably never 'reach nirvana', you can't catch wind in sails that aren't set. .
Here's to growth, discovery, and play. If you're feeling stuck creatively, or just in general, I challenge you to find something that inspires you today. Maybe it's a cool texture, a beautiful sweater, a well made pair of shoes, or a beautiful living room. Ignite the spark, and the flame will grow.

I picked up some flowers in a highway rest area to play with colors... in case you are still wondering : yes I am a romantic 😏
Rhododendruns. In my mind, people ran through them in the gardens of country houses in 1920s novels. I'm not sure where this image comes from but I quite like it, so I think I'll keep it.
Lush, dense foliage. Possibly the hills of Asia, possibly mid Wales. Photographs taken at the Centre for Alternative Technology today.
Lilac syrup in the making 🌸 combine one cup of lilac flowers, 1 cup of sugar or honey and 1 cup of water in a pan, simmer on the stove for 30 mins then strain, bottle and refrigerate once cooled. It will keep for months in the fridge. Delicious drizzled over yoghurt, porridge and added into drinks!
