Has this happened to you??😨😨👇More Tag your friends who are regularly stressed... Follow 👉@f.a.c.t_n.a.t.i.o.n for more such amazing content ➖➖➖➖➖➖👇More👇 It's long been known that the ancient and primitive part of the brain - called the hypothalamus - reacts to perceived danger by triggering a 'fight or flight' response. It sends a signal to release adrenalin, quickening the heart rate, speeding the breath and preparing us to confront the perceived monster or run away. However, scientists are now realising that stress can have a huge impact on the prefrontal cortex as well. This is the part of the brain that evolved most recently and doesn't fully develop until after your teenage years. The prefrontal cortext holds the circuitry we need for abstract thought. It allows us to concentrate on the task at hand while storing useful information in temporary storage for later on. It also prevents you from performing inappropriate actions and is basically the command centre for the brain. These mechanisms may serve a similar function when we face danger in the modern world - say when a reckless driver cuts us off and we need to slam on the brakes.' However, they said that if we remain in this highly-aroused state prefrontal function weakens. They said this could be a 'devastating handicap in circumstances where we need to engage in complex decision making about a loved one's serious medical condition or organise an important project to a tight deadline.' ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ #stress #brain #psychology #psychologist #brainfreeze #didyouknow #factnation
Between Tony’s late shifts and my early wake up calls my brain is all over the place. Then add in the crazy (for me) training I’ve been doing the past few weeks and Huston! we have a train wreck. Peppermint wakes me up, works with my body to amplify my training and smells like heaven. 🤜🏼🤛🏼
⠀ #colofmymem #lifeisgood #life #развитие #brain

Re-visiting last week’s exercise where I shared a strength change response to a tactile aid. In this round we try 3 changes: stance, prop and eye position. 🧠 I still have the scoliotic bobble but you can see it change with leg position. My reaction to the prop is lessened this time (we’d played a lot of games prior), and while the eye position was great with my right foot forward it failed with left foot front. 🧠 Thanks to @timmcminn for the insights last week that generated this investigation. 🧠 Dynamic equilibrium for the win because life is all about adaptability! #wellness #health #movement #movewell #movebetter #dynamicstrength #equilibrium #strength #strengthtraining #vision #brain #brainhealth #neuroplasticity #neuropro #zhealth @stronger_human

Neurons connecting to each other in a dish. If enough neurons do this in the right way, a mind will pop out. Take a moment to think about how incredible that is: consciousness is something that networks of cells *do.* And we have no idea how they do it! I think our ignorance is thrilling, since it means that there are plenty of discoveries waiting to be made. Planks getting stale/boring/standard and need a spicey kick? Try these as SLOW as you can for a few sets of 10 each side. Everyone knows you share everything with your BFF: secrets, clothes, inside jokes — and now, apparently, brain waves. You read that right: New research suggests that the brains of close friends respond similarly when stimulated, to the point that researchers said they could predict the strength of a friendship based on brain scans alone. Got a bestie? Tag them — and let ‘em know your bond is scientific. 🔬🧠 👯‍ Link in bio| Art by @keith_negley

#PrimalMovementCrawl : All people learn to move the same way: #crawling , #scooting , turning over, etc. Getting back to #basic , #primalmovements and #reorienting the link between the #brain and the #body and it’s basic movement patterns will reset your #NervousSystem and help locked up, clenching joints and muscles to let go; like rebooting a computer. Crawling is one primal movement that can help to reset your nervous system: - #BilateralCrawling : Get down on all fours and moving your right hand and your left leg at the same time; lift them up, move them forward, and set them down on the ground together. Then, moving your left hand and your right leg at the same time; lift them up, move them forward, and set them down on the ground together. Continue this pattern moving forward - 8 times forward; and, make sure to do it slowly to give your brain and body a chance to integrate. Then, repeat the pattern moving backwards. - Unilateral Crawling: Get down on all fours and moving your right hand and your right leg at the same time; lift them up, move them forward, and set them down on the ground together.
