Happy Friday!! Today is the first day in weeks that I’m sitting down in my own home for breakfast. (Nope, kitchen is not done.) I made coffee in the bathroom again 😂 infused with cinnamon, and cobbled together a few healthy things I quickly grabbed last night at the store (swipe for the lesser interesting of the two photos - that’s today!) The first shot was a draft from a yogurt phase when peaches were in season! 🍑🥑🍑🥑🍑
Here are 5 things I’ve learned (and reconfirmed for myself) with having no kitchen: - coffee made in the bathroom tastes just as good as coffee in the kitchen 😉
- cooking for yourself is the only true way to know what you are eating
- while eating out can be soooo delicious, rewarding, convenient (you fill in the blank) it’s nearly impossible to know where your food came from and how it’s been prepared (lately I’ve been investigating healthy and unhealthy oils). The only way to know is to take control and personal responsibility.
- finding the right food combinations that work for you can be challenging and frustrating, but also empowering. I’m realizing I need to figuring out how to do this with limitations and spend more time planning and “cooking” even if it means it’s in the bathroom
- picking paint colors is stressful!!

Frozen breakfast smoothie...Blend together frozen banana slices, cocoa powder, dates paste, vanilla extract, a splash of soy milk and a pinch of salt. Fold in dairy-free chocolate chips and finish off with a dust of cocoa powder. A cool way to begin the day!!!

:: We’d heard a lot about Suzette, the quaint little Parisian style creperie that calls Pali Hill (+ Nariman Point + Powai) home. And on out first visit itself, we understood why it has made its way into hearts and itineraries of the locals and tourists alike. It’s their feel good, easy-going vibes and a fuss-free menu that boasts of the city’s best crepes, the secret of which we believe is in their balance of fillings - neither too dry, nor too soggy, nor super heavy but just right.
From their CLUB salad (made of mixed lettuce leaves, grilled chicken, bacon, avocado, fresh + sundried tomatoes, croutons in a creamy Parmesan dressing) to their Fermière crepe ( Spanish BBQ ham, sunny-side up egg, Emmental, sautéed mushrooms, and creamy spinach - basically all our favourite things in a plate), we have many reccos from our now multiple visits to their cafes.
Sourcing their coffee from Blue Tokai, their cuppa is as good as their baguettes, croissants and pains au chocolat, that are all baked daily in their own bakery. So whether you want to have a hearty brekkie, pick-up a quick hunger fix or meet a friend for coffee date, this should be your go-to place for winning food.
The one thing that has stayed constant in all our orders is their ace home-made hot chocolate - topped with caramel, it’s holiday cheer in a cup. Please come to Delhi already!
