Mental Health Awareness Week finished off with a cool down ⚡️❄️ thanks to all the crew that came out & embrace the ice for their Mental well-being. We went through the 3 pillars of the #wimhofmethod
and discussed the health & performance benefits of the practice for Mental Health. Big thanks to our sponsors @theorganicmc @_plantculture @forthebettergood_ @etkhq
...was a ripper day! All proceeds from tickets are being donated to the legends @mhfnz #elementhealthnz
💫Oftentimes, we get so caught up in the things we want, that we forget to appreciate where we are today. We will never be here, and now again! Tomorrow will bring something new. Therefore, we need to appreciate today as it is.
💫By looking at where we want to be, it might create anxiety. Don’t focus on the finish line so much. Focus on the process, focus on one day at the time, focus on the present.
💫Looking back, on the other hand, to me is helpful. It is motivating! Because we can see how far we’ve come, and we can realize that we can accomplish anything!

•GALATIONS 6:9• I’m not sure if there is such a thing as a “1/3 life crisis” but if there is, I’m going through it. I often find myself focusing on how far behind I think I am in life. It’s almost an obsession. I got this email ^^ and because of my funky attitude lately, I didn’t even feel honored. In all honesty, I rolled my eyes. My brain: This award doesn’t increase my paycheck, it won’t get me a house, it won’t get me a 2019 car....no, no, no, won’t, won’t....why do i even come to work, why am i even smiling at people who are awful to me, why am I picking up the slack for other team members...and on and on....THEN I got punched in the heart real hard as my brain processed GALATIONS 6:9. I can’t stop being good because my ‘wants’ are not being attained at the moment. That’s a horrible attitude that I’m embarrassed to admit. The God I’ve known all my life will provide in his time if I “do not give up”. #checkyourselfbeforeyouwreckyourself #attitudecheck #jesusonlineone #breatheinbreathout #appreciatewhatyouhave #makeithappen #dontgiveup
Cold Immersion for enhancing Performance & Recovery. This is hugely beneficial if you’re a sports player or individual that loves to move 🤼♀️🏋🏻♂️🏊🏻♀️🏂 when you exert your body & mind in your particular sport, it’s important to rest, recover and reset so you can be at optimal performance! The cold is great tool for this. Supporting you to overcome inflammation, pain, mental stress, muscle damage and injury and more. Here’s a snap of kiwi fighters @danhangman
getting it done at our last Auckland workshop. Partner this with optimal breathing + a strong mindset plus key recovery tools that you enjoy = optimal performance & recovery ⚡️❄️ #elementhealthnz
‘Let nature in’ - strengthen your wellbeing – Mā te taiao, kia whakapakari tōu oranga!’ ...this years theme for Mental Health Awareness Week @mhfnz
(8th-14th) in New Zealand and it also makes quite the appropriate theme for this photo of @cool.not.cold
in the South Island embracing the waters of Lake Alta 😂❄️ Today marks the beginning of this important time of year. Each day of the week there is an encouraged theme and to kick things off, Monday is ‘Connect’...so get out there! Connect with your friends and family or maybe just take some time to connect with yourself...Get involved with those practices that connect you to the here + now and bring out YOUR true nature 🌿❄️⚡️ #elementhealthnz #mhaw18 #connect
Getting in done! Sometimes we can meet massive resistance to get in that cold shower, that lake, or that ice bath. It’s often then when we need it the most! Tune into the fear and excuses that may arise when you don’t want to go for that movement session, that nature immersion, that stretch or that cold plunge 😉...those feel good practices that empower you on your journey to happiness, strength and health. Keep it simple Team! Kia kaha #elementhealthnz
Commitment. A crucial component to any practice! when it comes to cold immersion & optimal breathwork training - it takes patience and dedication to tap in to the full potential of your body and mind. 95% of it is just showing up and being committed to fill up your own cup each day with a consistent practice...from there the true benefits will show! ❄️⚡️#elementhealthnz #mhaw18
Today my husband celebrates another year on this earth and my studio celebrates its first anniversary. I never thought I would be a business owner or that having one would bring such love, appreciation and connection into my life. Here’s to many more. ❤️💪🙏
Over the next few days we're posting what we're thankful for as Canadian Thanksgiving approaches.

A little Epson salt, baking soda, essential oils and mediation music go a long way to helping your body relax and do what it does best when you get out of its way. Sometimes we just need to sit back and breathe and enjoy the peace available in the moment.
What are you thankful for today?

One of our favourite experiences to host is taking our guests out in to New Zealand’s natural environments. Testing resilience and performance, immersing in cold water 💦, hiking, workouts and good vibes around cooking & community. We’re planning our retreats for 2019 to go above and beyond what we’ve done before 😎🌿 New content, new scenes to explore and a new year...watch this space! For now we are heading into the city of Auckland for upcoming city events in celebration of Mental Health Health Awareness Week to share the benefits of the Wim Hof Method for mental health #elementhealthnz #mhaw18

Quality human relationships & community are key to our wellbeing (plus ice baths 😂) A key component of community is communication. The two words are almost of the same origin. It’s also the same scenario with ‘relationship & ‘relate’...The two go together. The interesting thing is it’s quite often not the context/topic of the conversation that matters, but more the quality of connection. Awesome shot of the crew discussing personal stories around mindset & stress management in our modern environment at our last workshop #elementhealthnz
Auckland we are back for one of our last workshops for 2018! Sunday, 18th November ❄️ Here we are exploring the practice of the Wim Hof Method giving you the tools to empower your journey to happiness, strength & health. Overcoming your fears...whether it’s taking on that new project, completing that marathon or overcoming your fear of the cold, it all comes down to mindset. You are stronger than you think. It’s about getting out of your mind and into your natural flow! Your intuitive self. In some ancient cultures fear was treated as an illness with a strong accountability to overcome it in the community. Native American Indians for example used mental tests and strength conditioning to build resilience in the body & mind. They were also known to use cold exposure ❄️ To learn more about this mindset, Check out our linktree to watch the @mindvalley
video with @iceman_hof
to hear his perspective on fighting fear & winning at life’s challenges. Great watch! Wishing you all a solid finish to your week team, Kia kaha! X #elementhealthnz
Connect with your breath. Before you start your day, before that workout, before that meeting or even on that lunch break. Find some space, sit or lie down so you are relaxed and give your body the fresh o2 it needs! Anytime you have to connect with your breath, do it. You’ll never regret the recharge...there’s always time ⚡️#mentalhealth #elementhealthnz
We are all human. We all have these extraordinary body’s and minds that can perform & be healthy...serving our best selves each day. No matter where you are on your journey...using tools such a breath work, mindset training & cold therapy combined with other healthy tools are extremely beneficial to our wellbeing. Start where you are...go for that movement session, hit up that sauna, do some meditation or breathing... whatever it is that empowers you, drop in and do what feels good. It’s about getting into that rest and digest state yo! Here’s a snap of the brother @angelo_swannz

Weekend Life show where Physio & Certified Wim Hof Method Instructor Nigel Beach discusses the health & performance benefits of the WHM practice brought to science by @iceman_hof
and why we should be looking to tools such as cold immersion, breathwork & mindset training to build resilience around stress management and our nervous systems. He also shares his personal journey and some background to his wife’s journey with endometriosis + the practice. Interview can be found in our Linktree in bio. Tune in for 10 mins on this fine Monday morning. Kia Kaha Team! X
Why Cold Immersion? A question that comes up a lot with the 3 pillar health practice. The cold is a great tool to reset your stress threshold and manage stress levels. It’s about controlled discomfort to build resilience in your body & mind. From here you are not as easily triggered into your ‘fight or flight’ response by stresses in your environment. These could be things such as traffic, mobile phones & other modern day elements. It’s about tapping into our rest & digest which is where your body can heal, be calm and present each day. Here’s a snap by @art_green

Take a moment each day to just be. Take a breathe.
The power of Breathe returns you to the moment of Be-ing (present time).
Breathing and Be-ing clarifies your mind, body and soul.
Your eyes are the window to your soul.
How is your window? What is your view?
When thoughts are clear, your eyes are clear.
What are my eyes telling you?

Community. Something we all seek. A snapshot from our Auckland workshop @etkhq
sharing the power of breath, mindset and cold immersion with all walks of life. When we look back at some of longest living and ‘happiest’ humans...having community was a key indicator amongst other areas of health. It’s something we value at Element Health & innately as humans we all seek to connect with people we resonate with ❄️⚡️ TIP: Thursday arvo google search while your having a scroll..’Blue Zones’...Take a look! #elementhealthnz
One of the best things you can do for your body is to simply breathe- especially for your hormones! •
There are 2 branches of the autonomic nervous system- the sympathetic and the parasympathetic. Most of us run in sympathetic all day- this is our alert, stressed, fight or flight state. It activates us and helps us survive in the face of threat, but sympathetic dominance interferes directly with our hormones as well as digestion, immune system, brain function, and more. •
On the other hand, the parasympathetic state is our relaxed, restorative, healing state. It’s where we digest, rebuild, and rebalance. It is the yin to the yang of the sympathetic. And for the sake of our health, we need to hang out there more often. •
Breathing deeply and slowly helps our bodies switch on the parasympathetic nervous system. It immediately can calm and center us. And practicing can train our bodies to get here quicker! •
I’ve been feeling very overwhelmed this week and asked myself today “what can I do right now to feel better?” and my immediate thought was “breathe.” So I’ll keep breathing, keep supporting my body, and keep remembering that I have control over my reactions, no matter what. •
Try it- stop what you’re doing now and just take 3 deep, slow breaths. Focus especially on filling your belly and exhaling fully. Then comment with an emoji that describes how you feel! 👇🏼😌✨
Truth! ⚡️Get your mindset right & the rest seems to be a little lighter. Happy hump day team! Prescribing all viewers of this post a mid week reset with some breathing, cold water and mindful practice 😎#elementhealthnz
Health is the true wealth baby! When we move, breathe & grow our resilience to cold temps ❄️ (ice baths, cold showers, nature dips) along with hot temps 🔥 (saunas, workout sessions etc.) we feel goooooood! Our threshold for ‘stress’ is shifted and it reflects in our physical body + mental state...the two coincide. It’s just as important to work your mental health as you would 💪🏻 in the gym. Learn to focus, learn to be still & tune in to your breath in each moment. It’s all the little things that make us healthy, happy & strong to enjoy our time here on 🌏 #elementhealthnz
Does the week already feel like it is getting away from you? Stop. Sit down. Close your eyes. Breathe.
Ci ho sempre creduto fino in fondo.
