I went hiking on the Baikal Lake trail with a small group of friends and a pack of wolves (yep, not arctic huskies, siberian wolves!) found us attractive enough to come have a play. They walked near us, circled around some of us and weirdly, left.
We headed back to the village and on the way, I got bitten by a wild dog. The rest of the day quickly became a race to find vaccination against rabies. The first two shots must be given in a 24 hours window and then seven more doses are spreaded across three months... In other words, I was given a new hobby! 😉
No alcohol for six months (au revoir French wine!) and indeed a stack of paperwork: visa changes, medical insurance claims, translation of all documents in three different languages, overseas phone calls... The real challenge was to board a train from Irkutsk to Novosibirsk, a 30 hours ride in a bed the size of a coffin (3rd class ticket) and without medical assistance nearby... #travel #transmongolian #russia #hospital #sickness #rabies #vaccination #beingsicksucks #sickoverseas #inailedmentaltraining #breathing #meditation #positivethinking
