☔️it is a rainy, chilly morning over here in Brooklyn! Gonna be whipping this 🥑toast w/a crispy fried egg + microgreens (and don't forget the everything but the bagel seasoning!) again in a minute, BUT first
DID YOU KNOW- that "compostable" and "biodegradable" are not the same thing?? And that you can't recycle compostable things?? 🧐Yeeeeep.
I realized I haven't been posting much "green living" + sustainability content on here, and I realized it's just because I do a lot of these little eco-friendly swaps without a second thought nowadays because it's become so integrated into my life.
But there was a time when I didn't do a SINGLE thing, because it felt so intimidating and expensive to be more sustainably eco-conscious with my daily living. It felt highly "inconvenient" and overwhelming to deal with remembering my own cups, bags, thinking about plastic on groceries etc. when I barely could get my ish together to buy healthy groceries for myself.
Just like any other healthy / self-improvement habit though, taking things 1 at a time really helped make it less overwhelming - and fast forward 2-3 years later, I'm really quite proud of how much waste I don't put out into the universe compared to before. I'm FAR from being the most conscientious person I know, but like I like to say-- done is better than perfect-- so, don't let comparisons to others or societal moral pressures sway you from trying ☺️
----- SO ANYWAY, I posted a little education over on my stories just now, talking about the difference between #compostable
items and more. 📌All of my #sustainability
tips are saved to my "Green Living" stories highlights, AND I also linked my non-intimidating starter guide to eco-friendly living blog post on my stories again ☺️♻️happy composting!
