When in San Jose... FLOWER SOUR — got to SJ this morning and immediately went to pick up some Hermitage sours, since I can’t get them in San Diego. If you’ve never had a Hermitage sour, do yourself a favor and try them out. I was very interested in trying this one today! A 6.5% sour ale brewed with rose, hibiscus, lavender, and chamomile, aged in American and French oak wine barrels. It is magical to say the least. Smells like apple cinnamon to me, weirdly enough I suppose, but THAT FLAVOR... a combination of all the flowers it’s been brewed with, but the lavender really stands out at the finish. I kind of get a hint of cinnamon aromas as well. Medium carbonation, finishes smoothly with that creamy lavender feel. The array of aromas and flavors that blend so goddamn well make this a 10/10 for me, but it might not be for those are 1. Not into real sours, and 2. Not into floral/herbal/strong, very tart flavors. Has anyone tried it? Cheers!
We may have found our new favorite brewery...🍻
If you’re ever wandering down Tennyson Street, be sure to stop by @desteegbrewing
(enter through the back alley).
Their beers are strong, unique, flavorful & robust - honestly some of the best I’ve had in a while.
I recommend the French Saison, the Creamsicle IPA & the Orange Milkshake IPA (yep MILKSHAKE! 😋)
We got a @groupon
for about $15 for 2 flights & 2 crowlers, but unfortunately I don’t think the Groupon is available anymore 🤷🏻♀️
BUT STILL GO cause this brew is GREAT.
