The 1930’s Great Depression created a generation of resilient stalwarts who learnt to make do and value the simple things in life. I love depression glassware as it seems to sum up the values hard learnt in those times. Sturdy, uncomplicated, utilitarian, yet there is an elegance in its simplicity.
I have two clear glass butter dishes available from that era and a large range of milk jugs.
Jugs from $8
Butter Dish $35

I love using found pieces in and around the home. Foraged (nicked) this old bird cage off hard rubbish & it’s now protecting a little sea holly (eryngiam) plant that has been struggling in the garden.
Also feeling thankful today at the balance I have created in my life.
A business meeting this morning to finalize organisation of our much loved #briagolongfarmersandartistsmarket fed my community side.
Returned home to give my poor neglected garden some love (see my stories) which feeds my homebody side. And fielded a number of calls from people wanting to pop in (some from Melbourne 😉) to collect pieces they’ve seen online so business mum has checked in too.
It’s not always easy to do the work/family/me time juggle but today I’ve kept all the balls in the air 💅🏻 #businessmum#worklifebalance#mumlife#smalltownlife#mycountrygarden#rustemporium#antiquesandvintage#briagolong
Oh my, one of those days when you’re just happy to be alive!

Following the success of our June BFAM market, the Briag Traders Group are excited to be working on our second market for the year.
In light of current drought conditions, part proceeds of the market will be donated to Gippsland #needforfeedisasterrelief
Briagolong Lions Club will also be collecting on the day and of course what better way to support our farmers than buying straight from the producer!
We have just a few spots left for stallholders but will only be taking applications for Food & Farmers, so if you produce a great quality product in Gippsland get in touch via fb Messenger or email firstname.lastname@example.org#gippslandproducers#gippslandmakers#gipslandartists#gipslandmarkets
Slight delay on the little green meatsafe (see previous post) due to a damaged bread box situation.
I have, however, a slightly less rustic piece for your consideration.
A stunning Chippendale style sideboard with elegant cabriole legs.
Very affordable due to a few scuff marks. Displays beautifully as is or could be restored to full glory fairly easily. $395
