It was a privilege to taste this Macquarie Wagyu striploin - a one off sourced by @chachacharrest
owner John Kilroy. Tender and full of that rich beefy flavour which I love from a full blood Wagyu (can you see the marbling in the photo?! 🤤) - it was simply sensational! 🙌🏼 Hospitality is a fickle industry, so it's incredible to realise that Cha Cha Char has been in the game for 21 years and was the first restaurant in Brisbane to feature Wagyu beef on its menu. What I didn't know, is that Cha Cha Char eventuated after John was asked by the late Kerry Packer in the early 1990s to create a restaurant for him!
Of all the steaks at the media lunch last week, I particularly enjoyed and highly recommend the Rangers Valley Black Onyx rib fillet - rather surprising considering the Wagyu devotee that I am 😉
