Well we've had a dramatic morning! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Whilst unpacking groceries from the farmers markets, I accidentally slammed the car boot shut on THREE of poor hubby's fingers!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is doubly bad, as he's a chiropractor - his hands are his livlihood!! 😣 (I feel simply dreadful). The 2nd photo really doesn't do justice to how bad it looked initially - his fingers were instantly bruising, with massive indentations from the sharp metal edges of the car. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After 30 minutes intense massage, the bruising and indentation had gone down (just goes to show you how effective and amazing chiropractors can be!!!) It appears we have no broken bones, but definite ligament, muscle and tendon damage, with numbness at the tip of one finger - i.e. bad news! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My go to, of course, is comfrey. I whipped up a quick poultice and moulded it around the damaged fingers. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Also known as 'knit bone', comfrey has incredible healing abilities. It contains an oil that appears to work as an anti-inflammatory, and an analgesic, along with its ability to heal breaks and sprains. I've seen it heal broken toes in three days flat!
It is also known to help wounds heal, prevents scarring and even treats existing scars. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you don't have comfrey in your garden, I definitely recommend it! 😊😊 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
