Bronté baret | Gwenn
Italy - Sicily, land of a thousand scents and flavours, boasts a very rich enogastronomic tradition, fruit of the culture of the people who lived there, such as the Greeks, the Romans, the Byzantines, the Arabs, the Normans and so on, who left their influence and a thousand different nuances on the island, all to be savoured. #Bronte

Walking the coast from Bronte beach to Bondi beach
23.07.18 The novels of the Brontë sisters- Anne, Charlotte and Emily.
Thanks to #brontebookclub2018
, I have now completed each novel, and have posted them in order of my favourites:
1. Wuthering Heights (1847) by Emily Brontë.
- My favourite since my teens.
2. Jane Eyre (1847) by Charlotte Brontë.
- so many brilliant themes and memorable moments.
3. Agnes Grey (1847) by Anne Brontë.
I found this to be a charming love story about integrity of character.
4. Villette (1853) by Charlotte Brontë.
I loved the gothic themes, but found it quite dull at times.
5. Shirley (1849) by Charlotte Brontë.
At times, this was frustrating as the characters teasing withheld information from each other. There is a lot of sadness and endurance poured into this novel.
5. The Tenant of Wildfell Hall (1848) by Anne Brontë.
I know that I’m on controversial grounds here, as so many of you love this exploration of feminism and destructive marriages in Victorian times. I agree, but Gilbert’s violent conduct towards Mr Lawrence was despicable for me. I could not conceive how someone who beat up your brother and left them for dead was good husband material. If only that incident was modified to a verbal insult, I could be more forgiving!
6. The Professor (1857) by Charlotte Brontë. - I just found this dull. It’s similar to Villette, but without the more developed themes. 📚
So, there are my thoughts on the Brontës!
➡️ In what order would you place their novels? 📚

Who’s that hiding behind there?
TGIM! THANK God it’s Monday! Be thankful that we have challenges laid out in front of us. It’s so easy to feel lost with your career, plans, goals, jobs etc but you would rather have something to work towards than float around aimlessly. It’s all in the mindset! It’s funny as humans we tend to take note of what we’re lacking or missing and sometimes forget to feel thankful for the little things that we take for granted in our daily routines. I.e ability to see, walk, invention of cake and sports etc 😆
