I use to have perfect children who never would talk back to their mother, who would do anything to get in the sun and swim with me, who were almost always barefoot in the summertime. Life was actually harder back then but we loved more and stuck together. I had barely $20 to my name many years. He use to say he was “Vipmanese Indian” and “holdjume”. She use to dare me to prove her wrong-and make my life hell if I pointed out a single fault. 😂😘🤫. I’ve never known a love even as close to how I love them, before. They taught me love, self care, how to accept my faults, forgive myself, be better, do better and much more. . .
Now they are grown. She still loves sunshine, water and barefoot life sometimes with me. He still has the same physique but is a vampire now. It takes a long time to look back and say “that went by fast.” It’s only in hindsight I can actually say that because the reality of it is.... when you live it every day.. it is tough.. it seems like forever. But we made it, he’s in college, she is almost there. They are both happy, well adjusted genuine, sincere, intelligent, independent humans. #parenthood #singlemomlife #strongwomen #ittakesavillage #momlove #brownbabies #mixedbabies #50shadesofhuman #nativechildren #vietnamesechildren #myfavs #humankind #cheflara #mychildren #adventuresofcheflara #notv
