Parc du Cinquantenaire is a park and national landmark. The name means “Park of the 50th anniversary” and was built during the reign of Leopoldo ll to commemorate 50 years of Belgian independence. Symbolically, the park is built in the shape of a pentagon, like the inner and outer rings of the city. The two arms of the arch are home to 3 museums - Autoworld, an art museum and an army museum.
