Late night musings. Or new camp spot insomnia.
How do you deal with inner turmoil?
We all have it. We all fight it.
I'm the kind of person that relives scenes over and over in my head, these can be right back from my early childhood and teenage years. My nature is to fix, to mend, I think I've been fixing things since I was very young. I think that is why I replay scenes, that I think still need fixing, in my mind. I should have said this. I should have done that. Or I shouldn't have said or done that. I like to talk these through, to get them 'straight', to find out if what I remember was really how it went. More often then not though, these scenes, that exist still for me don't for the others that were involved in them, my words/actions didn't affect them in the way that I perceive, but of course, in some instances, they did. And for that, I'm truly sorry.
These are times when I need reminding that we are all human, that we all make mistakes, that we are all different and we deal with life differently.
To forgive myself.
To take it as a learning moment, to reflect on our own behaviour and how it can affect someone else. To teach our kids the power of words and actions, the good and the bad. The effects they have.
Uplift or destroy. It's that simple, and we all have that choice everyday.
Are your actions and words uplifting or destroying the people around you? And how does it make you feel?
What can we do now so that these scenes need not play in our heads in the years to come?
