Claudia, like so many of our scholars is the first in her family to pursue higher education. Her mother was unable to attend school beyond the 2nd grade, while her father graduated from high school. Her father supports the family by working as a security guard. .
Claudia is pursuing a degree in Business Administration. She chose this major because she wants to eventually manage her own business while simultaneously having enough funds to financially support other students in their endeavors, just like she is being sponsored by a rotary club in the US. .
Claudia volunteers at a school for children with disabilities, and says that seeing the difficulties they have to overcome inspires her to pursue her dreams with determination. She hopes that by obtaining an education and a career, she will be able to help those who need it most, especially people with disabilities, and change El Salvador's reputation from a nation known for its violence to a place famous for its enterprise and compassion. .
We wish Claudia and all our scholars much success as they return to another academic year. . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kenia is a Business Administration major and recipient of a Project Salvador Scholarship funded by a rotary club in the US. Without the scholarship Kenia would not be able to attend college and dream of a better future. .
Kenia is the middle daughter in her family and the first to pursue higher education. Her parents were unable to obtain an education and her older sister stopped attending after the 9th grade due to medical complications. Kenia's father worked many years in coffee production but after losing that job could only find temporary, odd jobs in construction and fishing. Left with few options, her mother had to go into the city to work as a domestic worker. The family would see their mother every 15 days, when she was allowed time off. Luckily her parents have found steady work closer to their home. .
It has been a difficult journey for Kenia and her family due to their financial constraints and her sister's medical expenses. Despite their financial limitations Kenia and her family find ways to contribute to their community. Kenia's family has long been involved in their community's association and help with fundraisers and coordinating community events. Kenia is currently the president of the association. .
Kenia shares that at times she feels like giving up, especially when she sees her sister suffer. She thinks if she could find a job she could help her sister get the medical treatment she needs, but then realizes that she has an incredible opportunity to get an education. Kenia explains that thanks to the support the program gives her she is able to continue. .
Kenia is one year away from being the first professional in her family. Project Salvador's Scholarship Program not only changes the lives of the students but also their families and communities. 🎓📚👏👏
Please consider making a $5 or $10 donation to support students like Kenia. All donations can be made through PayPal and are tax deductible.

David Alexander served in the Marines and sadly passed away before his son, Tom, was born. Despite having never met his father, Tom is determined to make his dad proud. With the help of Fallen Patriots, Tom was able to attend the Concordia University of Wisconsin for Business Administration and graduated to begin his career in 2013. 🇺🇸#MCM

One week till you officially graduate!! 😢🎓💙💛
I’m now officially a college graduate. After finishing my last final I now have a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. I can’t express in words of how proud I am of this life achievement.
I just want to share with everyone that you can do it too. No matter where you are at in life you can become a college graduate. People say that it doesn’t matter anymore if you have a degree or not but they are wrong. One of my professors taught me that it shows your true character when you have a college degree. It shows that you have perseverance. It shows that you can accomplish your goals. now on to a new chapter in life...
