Below is an answer to one of our most frequently asked questions. We will be answering this more fully over the next few days so keep checking in for more 😁🐰
▫️▫️▫️Most rabbits take to litterbox training pretty naturally. It’s important, though, to keep a few things in mind: First, it is essential that your bunny be spayed/neutered❗️ This takes the hormones out of the picture and greatly decreases the tendency to “mark” territory. Second, most rabbits will never quite master the pooping-in-the-box concept. The good news is that the pellets are dry, odorless, and easy to sweep up. The bad news is—if you’re a real “neat freak”—you’re likely to be disappointed with the outcome. 😏 And, third, you will have to start with limited freedom and be willing to adjust your idea of where the litterbox belongs to align with your bunny’s idea (your bunny is probably much more stubborn than you are!). Rabbits vary in how quickly they learn to use a litter box. Young rabbits are often hyper and too busy exploring to remember to return to a litter box, and can be more difficult to train. A rabbit with a well-established spraying habit may continue to spray, especially in the presence of another rabbit.▫️▫️▫️To Be Continued...
