📍Kovan Heartland Mall
The maki at the back was their signature rolls recommended by the counter staff, Champion Floss Rolls (4 pcs $9.90). They are topped with heaps of chicken floss and tobiko. (Yes, chicken floss flakes🐔) Love the crispy crunch feeling and it tasted like takoyaki!
They comes in 8 pcs as well if 4 isn’t enough to satisfy you😋
The maki rolls in the front are Aburi Salmon Rolls and anything Aburi can’t go any wrong!
The salmon is well done and one of our favourite as well!
Service was ok as they use the buzzer service and you’ll need to collect the food yourself but that’s fine as there’s no GST/Service charge! ✌🏻 Damage: $10 - $20
Verdict: 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.5 / 5

Aburi Mentai Roll
These rolls from Kazoku Japanese Cuisine comes stuffed with salmon, avocado, crabmeat and cucumber, topped with seared salmon, fish roe and mentaiko sauce, which carried a melt-in-your-mouth feel that was creamy and tasty!
Back to one of my favourite hotpot place @tsukadanojosg_bijinnabe 😋 and I am being promoted to "General Manager" after several visits. For this promotion, I was rewarded with a rice snack.
Loving their loyalty system where each new customer will be given a name card with the position of "Assistant Manager". Every visit earns us a stamp and completing the loyalty card (name card) will get us a promotion. Whenever we get promoted, a free snack/side will be given as part of a mini celebration!
Tried their spicy collagen hotpot this round. Found it only slightly spicy though not too oily. I still prefer the original collagen hotpot. Have you tried Bijin Nabe yet?
Big eye tuna with a base of mushrooms and hints of truffle~ seriously the bomb of the night ! Such fresh flavourful ingredients melting in my mouth was truly amazing ~ @braci.sg

Not the cleanest of places that you will want to have a meal at, with all the dirt and soot staining the walls/floors, but if this is where the greatest food’s at, then that’s where I am going. Many has claimed that street food is “about roughing it out”, and this place is a clear example. However, amidst all the roughing it out, this place clearly showcases an alternate magical experience, a hidden gem beneath the bustling streets, that I will choose any other day from the comfortable cafe/restaurant settings. This kind of backyard environment at Cơm Tấm Ba Ghiền has its own unique flavour and attractive charm to it that I will highly recommend you to come try if you’re in Ho Chi Minh city. To me the food will always triumph over ambience or the Instagram factor.
There is no English menu and the staff speaks minimal English as well, so your best bet is to follow what I did which is to whip out my phone, head over to Mark Wiens’ @migrationology blog and show them “Cơm tấm bì chả sườn trứng ốp la” which literally means the broken rice plate with the entire full works of shredded pig skin, Vietnamese meatloaf, deep fried egg with a runny yolk, pickled vegetables and the shining beacon of them all, which is the freshly charcoal grilled humongous pork chop. With a smokey aroma and a sweet and salty flavour from the marinate, this pork chop is every pork fan’s dream come true. In true Vietnamese fashion, a small bowl of Vietnamese fish sauce is served with the com tam. Everything on the plate just manages to blend harmoniously to create a whole new experience that I’m glad I made the trip down.

Shiok $1.80 卤肉饭 and delicious pig organ soup; Overall a good place to have a satisfying late night dinner/supper. I'll definitely be back for more.
Bread & butter pudding ~The only dish that caught the attention of my tastebud as it was made with real vanilla pods and you could smell and taste the intense aroma of it. The sourdough breads that were supposed to be well known for were an unfortunate let down as they were dry and bland. @firebakesg

Truffle + 🍟 + Parmesan 🧀
#weekend indulgence. That's what we diet for right? 😆
This Truffle Fries is on point. With the aioli sauce, crunchy truffle salt and grated parmesan cheese, each calorie taken is so worth it. 😁😁😬
At $12.90++ it was a huge portion for just me and my companion. Perhaps just nice to share for 4 pax. Nonetheless, it was heavenly!!! 😍

Puff the Magic Dragon, lived by the sea ~~~ realised only when we ordered to know that this roll got its name from an actual song? p.s. We contributed the eyes of the dragon 🐉 ☺️ Visit on Sundays to enjoy up for 50% off it’s donburi bowls 😋😋😋
Keisuke Ramen did not disappoint!🍜
Al dente ramen in the lightly flavoured Shoyu Ramen with soya sauce and a hint of bonito flakes fish flavour.
The highlight of the restaurant is the Tonkatsu Ramen with the thick, creamy and full-bodied porky tonkatsu soup. YASSS!!!
Cannot help but want to keep drinking the soup even when I'm so full. 😬😬😆 Each time I drink it again after clearing my palette with a sip of the warm water, I get that burst of porky garlicky flavourful soup in my mouth. 😆👍🏼🍜
SO SATISFIED! DANG! #iWillBeBack

Serves over 50 desserts daily, you’ll be spoilt! I love eating tiramisu because I am addicted to the bittersweet dessert. The espresso sponge cake, soaked with coffee and booze with rich mascarpone mousse 🍰 . The sponge cake was very moist and soaked the layers just enough to impart flavour that makes it very addictive 😋. Some would probably be turn off by the price tag attached to a single slice. I think it’s is a steal at its price considering the quality and generous portion here! .
Tiramisu at RM19.80.

If you feel that you had been cheated your whole life each time you eat dark chocolate ice cream then it’s time to come with me to the dark side. The Dark Gallery almost moved me to tears with their 80% dark chocolate and salted peanut butter ice cream flavours. You’d feel happy to pay more than the $8:50 for 2 generous scoops. The bittersweet sensation of the dark chocolate ice cream together with the savoury peanut butter is perhaps one of the best combination you can hope for and my wish came true today.

Weekend motto: Don’t Want To Work 不想上班 ($4.50) 🤣🤣
Haha this is one of the signature drinks by Bobii Frutii, a Taiwanese bubble tea brand brought in by local celebrity Nat Ho!! It’s the pretty Insta-worthy layered one made of Oolong Tea, Milk, and Blue Bobii which is made of butterfly pea
But honestly on a scale of 0 to 10 with 10 being “as yummy as Nat Ho”, I think the drink is only like a 6!! And the pearls are a 2/10 (overly nua/soft!) - maybe cos they were frozen and flown in from TW 🇹🇼 🤔 That said, curious to try the Brown Sugar Bobii someday!
@dareren can’t have dairy as of now so he opted for a Green Romance ($4.90) made of Kiwi Green Tea and Original Bobii. No comments cos I didn’t rly try 😂 #dqky#burpple

Ocean Gems Tendon “UMI” ($23++)
Another hit from Kohaku, their seasonal seafood tendon might not be as cheap, but it’s definitely still very worth your buck! Packed with a variety of different seafood (2 prawns, squid, oyster, snow crab, king crab stick and scallop) all fried in a special seaweed batter which lent a unique scent to the whole bowl. Even better was the generous dollop of ikura that made each mouthful a delight. It’ll only be available till Feb, so if seafood’s your jam, then pop over pronto!
Found a gem at Suntec!
This Bun satisfied my cravings for a refreshing, healthy yet tasty meal. The grilled and marinated pork and chicken were both very flavourful. If only I can recreate this sauce for my salad at home...
I know I can trust the VietBox by Wrap & Roll. 😁👍🏼
