Seasalt & Crème Brûlée softserve
($6.40) with Toasted Marshmallow Topping (+$0.80) .
The Crème Brûlée was slightly too sweet but other than that it tasted pretty good. Seasalt is a permanent flavour on their menu and it will be able to satisfy an icecream craving for sure. .
However pricewise, not sure if you'd want to pay this much for a softserve. Go ahead and try it if you don't mind spending that bit more for an icecream just once :)
Overall rating: 7/10

House of Happiness is the latest addition to the cosy neighbourhood of Simpang Bedok — an interesting twist to our commonly known claypot rice dishes.
For an egg-citing experience, I had the Lorbak rendition which showcases a fine pairing of an onsen egg, braised meat slices and crunchy shanghai greens. Really loved how the lor bak is being braised nicely in a stock of more than 15 herbs and spices, simply egg-dictive, juicy and flavourful! 👍
Next up, the Teriyaki Pork Jowl rendition offers generous portions of pork jowl slices that have been sous vide for 16 hours, marinated in a teriyaki sauce and then pan-seared. The pork jowl slices are simply robust, tender and addictive. The whiff from every claypot is simply aromatic with a smooth consistency in the texture of each rice grain. The added hint of crispness is really delightful too! 🍚

Battle of the Satays!🤜🤛 Toa Payoh Lorong 8 Food Centre & Market has one of the best satay in Singapore we declare! Located as the first store at the middle rows of hawkers (next to changi hokkien mee), one would not miss the long queues waiting for their satay. Expect a wait of at least 20mins during dinner hours. The satay is nicely grilled over charcoal and oiled throughout with the special blended spice oil. This made the satay soft, tender and every bite was heavenly. However, the meat on each stick was rather small and I had expected larger pieces of meat given it is 70 cents per stick at a normal neighbourhood hawker center. The ketupat rice was also made to perfection, while had the strong palm leaf smell to it, each bite delivers satisfaction. The satay sauce in my view was very well done, I just cant find any fault to it. Highly recommend, even with the stingy portion!

Hokkaido Marche @hokkaidomarche
A marketplace-style Gourmet Hall by Hokkaido Marche in Orchard Central where you can enjoy a variety of authentic Hokkaido fare without burning a hole in your pockets.
Seven shops set to open offering yummy donburi topped with fresh seafood and pork, curry rice, soba, Udon, as well as slurp-worthy ramen.
Some dishes are priced at $10 nett for @jpassport
In frame: Ajisai Ramen - Hakodate Ramen $12.00
Ajisai most recommended dish is the ‘Shio Ramen’. Using pork, chicken and natural rock salt on a base of kelp produced in southern Hokkaido, this soup is clear with no bitter taste and is even popular among ladies.
It also tastes excellent with the shop owner’s special made-to-order straight noodles or with juicy roasted pork on top of the noodles.
Flavourful broth and tender Cha Shu. A must order item.
P2: Yakitori Tsuyoshi - Buta Don + Miso and poached egg. $14.50 with soy sauce / $15.50 with miso sauce.
We tried the famous “Buta-Don” (Pork rice bowl) topped with their secret sauce and it is so flavourful enough to bring back fond memories of that distinctive taste of Hokkaido.

the best place in sg (to me) for a good ol’ hk foodie fix — i love their tarts here, the crust is the flakey crumbly kind and it complements the wobbly egg custard so well in both taste and texture. it’s silky smooth and sweet, yet not overly jelat as the buttery crust cuts thru it nicely + best part it’s always served warm :”) the milk tea here is also on point w just the right proportion of tea to milk, rly brings me back to one of those authentic 茶餐厅.
Fish head with garlic sauce, comfort food!
Another of our selections via the Honestbee app and this Neck clams and bacon pasta in white wine sauce turned out to be really flavourful and delicious. Find it under Pasta la Vista!
Roasted oolong ($3.50 +$1 pearls)
Peach + Kalamansi + Passionfruit ($4.90)
⭐️ 4/5 ⭐️
🍴Not that affordable compared to its competitors but this relatively new entrant into the bubble tea scene is on #burpplebeyond
which brings the prices to comparable (& slightly cheaper) than other brands. We really enjoyed both of our tea options. The oolong cloud tea was nicely roasted and a bit on the bitter side (owing to my choice of 0% sugar) but that balanced out well with the sweet chewy pearls. The #brownsugarpearls
are bigger than norm but deliciously soft & not overly sweet. The popular fruit-based choice of peach, kalamansi & passionfruit is a refreshing sweet-sour mix that comes with lots of fresh fruits & soft sweet jelly that makes for a nice extra treat after the tea is finished
