Busselton Jetty: 1.84kms out to sea. We decided on doing the tour, which meant we got the train 🚂 down the jetty and a tour of the underwater observatory. Well worth the money for our little marine lover. The view under the ocean, and the amount of marine life we saw was far more than we anticipated. The observatory traverses 3 levels, and after the initial tour you are free to keep watching yourself. This worked to our favour as everyone basically cleared out and we were left with the guide who taught us the names and habits of all the fish 🐠 we could see.
The train itself is a lovely novelty, though I personally would probably have preferred to just walk the jetty and enjoy it, but the train was included in the tour.
I stood towards the end of Bussleton jetty, about 1.8km out at from the Bay - at about 8.45pm on a very quiet Thursday evening. I pass a hand full of fishermen on my walk of the Jetty - A young fisherman is close to the end catching some fish - I stop to take a picture of the moon. After a minute or so the young fisherman starts shouting 'EXCUSE ME... Girl... HEY GURL' when I realise it is me who he is shouting at I say 'Yeh.. You ok?' He starts to walk towards me and says 'are you a real person?' 'Yeh, I'm a real person🤔...' I reply - to my relief and his, I would believe, he replies 'Awh I thought you were a Ghost' and goes back to his fishing.
Forever I will be Ghost Girl of Bussleton Jetty - that wasn't actually a ghost. #ghostgirl #bussletonjetty #bussleton #bussletonbeach #bussletonwa #wa #travel #australia #explore #adventure
Throwback to that time I thought it would be good to jump out of a plane ✌🏻#nofilter
I have seen amazing pictures of Bussleton Jetty and had visions of getting everyone out of the car and taking some magical photos of them running along the huge Jetty. The reality was I had to jump out of a moving car to run and grab a photo and then try and find where hubby and the girls had ended up waiting for me. Relaxed and calm photography isn't realistic at this stage in my life...
Perth, you've been everything I could have imagined and so much more. From everywhere we went to everyone we met, it's safe to say I absolutely fell in love with this place 💕
A massive thank you to @delyshapick
for everything you did for us, and to everyone else we met along the way that made our stay so much more memorable.
For now, it's goodbye and onto the next. But I think I'll be seeing that 'Welcome to Perth' sign at the arrival lounge again a lot sooner than previously expected 😏✈

Busselton, WA. After being discharged from the hospital 🏥 we headed to Busselton jetty. This place has been on our to do list since we started planning our trip and it did not disappoint. Because it was late in the afternoon we caught the train 🚂 for the 1.84km to and from the under water observatory. Through the windows of the 9m deep observatory we viewed the most southern species of coral, a rare relative of the Barramundi, lots of sea squirts and fish 🦀🐙🐡🐠. We also got some schooling completed with a worksheet off the observatories website. #macs_hitthetrack #travelwithkids #schooliflife #unschoolinglookslikethis #bussletonjetty #bussletonunderwaterobservatory #justanotherdayinwa
