Last night, I made a simple weeknight rice dish on my instastories, which you can find in my highlights. It's a regular staple in our house; sometimes cooked plain, at other times cooked with whatever leftover vegetables I need to use up. You can also make it a full meal by adding leftover chicken you've got in the fridge. Make it the way you like. Experiment and explore because that's what the kitchen is about.
Teach your child that things are not always what they seem; that the humble carrot might have been made to be orange for political reasons. Teach your child that just like carrots, humans may have a harsh, wooden heart with a smooth exterior or an unflattering surface with a sugary sweet center. Teach your child.
