This is a Twin Lens Reflex camera, or TLR for short.
The top lens, is referred to as the "viewing lens". Light that passes through the viewing lens is reflected off a mirror, allowing users to focus and compose their image via a waist-level viewfinder on the top of the camera.
The bottom lens, is the "taking lens", and as its name implies, it's responsible for taking the image by exposing the film to light.
This particular camera, as well as the majority of TLRs, shoots on medium format film, a negative which can be up to 100 times the size of the image sensor on your smartphone. In modern equivelant, medium format film can produce 50 to 80 megapixel images, which makes for some astonishing prints.
The camera pictured here is the Mamiya C33 with the 80mm F2.8 lens. This specific model was first produced in 1965 and is one of the only TLRs ever created to feature interchangeable lenses.
