Icing on the cake: 26 June 2015. Reason: purchasing 2014 Ford Mustang GT California Special.
Just before I bought this car, 6 June 2015 I competed in my first fitness competition after multiple people told me: I shouldn’t do it/girls shouldn’t have muscles/you’ll look like a dude/I won’t be with someone who has no respect for themselves to prance half naked on the stage. Ending a dysfunctional relationship that I was told ‘you’ll never own a mustang, you don’t need it. You’ll need something for a car seat..’ It created such a drive in me to unleash the beast within and live the life I envisioned for myself. I had dreams for myself and it was time for me to do them. ▫️I competed in the biggest NPC in Michigan with a good friend. ▫️Opened my eyes to how I wanted to live my life instead of letting someone dictate or guilt trip. ▫️ Purchased my first car which was my dream car the Cali Special despite being named after the Shelby GT500 (which is the mega dream car but let’s be real about affording one). This beauty is named Ghost. She was the sugar on top to me overcoming previous hurdles and tuning out unsupportive people. Was it hard? The hardest thing ever. Hurdles started as challenging childhood, homelessness living in my Eclipse RS freshman year of college to obtaining a bachelors in nursing with honors to unhealthy/abusive/demeaning/threatening (or one or two that just didn’t work out) relationships to ‘prancing’ across stage to buying the car of my dreams. You don’t get places without a fight. This fight has been one heck of a rodeo but my coach—God has been one great leader. FIGHT for what you want. It is your life, don’t live according to someone else. Your opinion matters. Your dreams matter. ✨YOU can overcome unforeseen situations!
✨YOU can tune out negative people around you. ✨YOU can walk away from unhealthy relationships!
✨YOU are never alone!! .
Stand up beautiful. Stand up handsome. Take my hand—let’s fight together. The battle is never over.
