🇬🇧 When it was really cold, Tajga would lift her paws like the ground was burning (that’s when I put her booties on), or in deep soft snow, she would sometimes limp and stop because hard ice balls formed between her paw pads. To help with this, we developed a daily ritual of me applying Musher’s Secret cream to her paws, and her licking my hands while I do it (just what you want at -20).
Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt. Tilly has taken many dirty paths and when there isn’t one, she digs one in the backyard 🙃 #dirtytoes
Tilly has always been an off leash dog. Since she was a pup. I’d check the letter box every morning with her and she got used to sticking close to me. As she grew, I’d walk with her off leash and let her walk ahead. Now we hike, with other people and dogs sharing our trails, we’ve been working on keeping her by my side and I can’t believe how quickly she’s picked it up. I still let her walk ahead, but when I see people or another dog, I bring her to my side, and she sticks by me until I release her. She’s forever blowing my mind with how smart she is. Tell us something your dogs does that blows your mind?! #smartypups
