Today I was my own worst enemy. I had taken a break yesterday because it was the first chance I had really had in like 2 months to take a MH day, and it was great! Even though I still worked out, I was able to take some time to myself. But MAN did that kill my motivation. I fought myself tooth and nail inside my head all day. I got up, did my first yoga, then started work. My motivation to do anything after work just kept getting smaller and smaller. I kept making excuses. "Oh, I am in a bad place in my head. I'm too tired. I'm too sore. I need to work on this painting. I need to give the marshmallow a bath. I just can't today." But with every excuse I gave myself, I was actually able to fight back with the rational side and see that the reasons really were excuses. I could and I SHOULD get it over and done with and I'm so happy I did. Even though I may not have pushed as hard as I should have, I still did my whole work out today. I still did my yoga both morning and night and #cize
in the evening. Today proved to me that, beyond serious injury or illness, for me, there really aren't any excuses. I'm f*cking doing this.

Health is EVERYTHING. 🙌🏻 I've always been fit, active, and a healthy eater. I took my health for granted, because - well I was healthy - and I was doing "everything right." Then I was diagnosed with a chronic illness, and it has taken me YEARS to feel normal again. So I'm thankful for each and every day I get out of bed without pain, and can walk, run, and exercise. 🏋🏻⠀
So I've got 2 reminders for you all! First, if you're a business owner and have some sort of health concern - you're not alone, and you'll get through it. It's OK if you need to take a day for yourself. Make it a priority to work that time into your schedule, and don't feel bad for doing it. You're a superwoman/man, and you've got thicker skin than you know. ❤️⠀
Second, take care of yourself. You can't give your best to your family, friends, business, clients, or anything else unless you are well. It's not always easy, but it's totally worth it!!
Meant to post this yesterday but you know, mom life...
My kids are watching me dedicate time in myself, physically & mentally.
They watch me workout, they tune in on my personal development podcasts and help me create my playlists!
It sets a positive example.
Never witnessed or have been apart of anything like this in my childhood.
My parents worked full-time & my Sicilian Nana pretty much raised us.
I grew up watching her cook, clean, do laundry, wait for the Avon lady to come over, sip on coffee & crackers & watch The Price Is Right, Days of Our Lives & Ricki Lake.
We all just gathered around the table & ate a lot, which in turn made for the best memories!
And on the flip side made me a clean person who is super competitive & likes to host...and eat, lol!
So now I’m creating my own for my children.
I’m flipping the flow.
