What big (or small) adventure are you planning? Are you leading them or taking them?
Multiple times in Italy, I took my boys "canyoning"..
For this trip, were driven to the top of a mountain and then made our way down the canyon via hiking, rappelling, sliding, zip lining, etc. We had done 3 hour trips before, but this 7 hour trip down the canyon was rigorous..
My kids were not tall enough nor old enough but I convinced the guides to let us go. It was Italy, va bene..
My quads hurt for days after the uneven hiking down rocks for 7 hours. My oldest was tired and grumpy. My youngest was careless and we kept having to watch him that he had his caribiners hooked in.
This time around, there wasn't rappelling down waterfalls as the water level was low, unlike the first time we went.
They will be old enough to take it up a notch on the next trip back. Can't wait do more adventures with them. One day these boys will thank me
