Went to Cape Hatteras just about every summer when I was a kid...excited to visit this beautiful lighthouse with my family💕
i can't believe it's been 4 years since "hatteras delight" was born! 🌊 i love that the original painting ended up staying on the island (a friend from avon snagged it) ~ and since then, so many prints, greeting cards & vinyl stickers of this design have traveled the world 🌎 thank you all so much for your continued support!
“Brightly beams our Father’s mercy ,
From His lighthouse evermore ,
But to us He gives the keeping ,
Of the lights along the shore.” (Philip P. Bliss) . .
You are a light. Your life matters in the lives of others. Your words and your character have present and eternal significance. So be a faithful steward, “let your light shine before others” (Matthew 5:16) ...
And “let the lower lights be burning”

Its not Halloween without a ghost story!
The Ghost Cat of Cape Hatteras Lighthouse
The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse attracts visitors from all over the world. While visiting the lighthouse, folks have reported seeing a large black and white cat roaming the grounds and inside the lighthouse.
What most visitors do not realize is that they are being greeted by a ghost cat. The cat moves close to people and may even rub up against them, but when someone tries to pick it up, it simply vanishes. Believed to have once been owned by one of the light keeper’s, the cat has lived at the lighthouse for decades, greeting its many visitors. Have you spotted the black and white cat when you visit the lighthouse?
Cape Hatteras Lighthouse Under a Sea of Stars. #Repost @wessnyderphotography
10-28-18 October's clear night sky at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. I saw tons of shooting stars all around last night and was able to capture many in the shots I took. The cape Hatteras lighthouse is a completely different animal than any other OBX lighthouse when it comes to taking night pictures of it. I plan to return all winter to learn all the proper techniques for capturing its beauty at night. Last night was probably my last night to be able to capture a milky way photo of it this year. Which photo from this set is your favorite?
Here is another version of the #capehatteraslighthouse
This was timed for 1/2 cycle of the beam. Iso800 15sec at f1.4
Fun times at the #capehatteraslighthouse
a few years ago. We got eaten alive by the NC state birds #mosquito
We had about 3/4 moon that night and tried a number of different exposures but this I think was the best. Shot at ISO52000 using an F1.4 lens.
