Rethink exercise ✔️
➡️ In the modern developed world, exercise has been forced on us to make up for the lack of daily movement and exertion that we are exposed to. Our bodies are designed to move ALOT, and all of the systems in the body work much better when we are exposed to a large sum and variety of movement.
➡️ Your state of health depends on movement: how much you get, how well you move, and your variety of movement on a daily basis.
➡️ The world has become increasingly convenient. Along with this, movement has taken a back seat as it isn’t a necessity anymore. You can get by with sitting or being static for a large portion of each day if your job and existence doesn’t require movement...and this is why exercise has been so heavily emphasized. But a brief bout of exercise doesn’t make up for an otherwise sedentary lifestyle.
➡️ Exercise has also turned into somewhat of a punishment or nuisance as opposed to a reward (for many people)...it has been flipped on its head. Movement, exercise, and exertion used to be more inherently rewarding...because it was necessary to do anything. In order to get a tasty meal, a lot of movement and exertion was required. In order to go anywhere, explore, or get things done, movement was required. We used to move without really thinking twice about it...now we have to scrape ourselves off the couch to force a workout in.
↪️ It comes down to setting your life up in a way that promotes and allows for more movement. From the workstation you have, what you do at lunch, how you spend your free time, how you get places etc. Do your best to move more ✅
