This 📷 says a lot (stay with me for a second)... It’s a tiny seedling 🌱
But there has been growth.
If you saw it six months ago, you would have seen only a little stick with no green growth.
Well we 💓 to acklowledge any growth when it comes to improving lives for children in foster care.
This week, we pause to celebrate a “tiny growth” moment.
One of our moms in our #MomsMatter program enrolled after losing her husband and entering into a losing relationship with alcohol. Her addiction onset led her to lose her kids, who are teens. This left her heartbroken and not knowing where to turn. Fortunately, one of our Peer Support Specialists who leads this program was able to offer her the support she needed to have hope. Just recently, she enrolled herself in a treatment program for her alcoholism and she is successfully working her treatment plan. 🎉🎊 Tiny moments. 🌱
They are really amazing if you can 🛑 to notice them. We are celebrating hard this week! And hoping wildly for continued success for this mama 💓
Over the next few weeks I get to spend lots of time celebrating one of the special ones, with this lady's hen's, wedding and 40th all coming up. Together we've been through many of life's ups and downs, we've been all shapes and sizes, we've had ridiculous ninetiees & noughties haircuts and fashion crimes, we've been mostly in (but for a teeny window out) of each others lives (sorry for the blip, love), but I'm so glad that after all that we are still walking each other's way, pretty lady. You've put the Annie in my shenanigans for 25 years, and I hope we have at least 25 years of shenanigans still to come. Love yer giggly guts @annie.getyourgun.7#friendship#bff#throwback#memories#celebrate#love#friends#goodtimes#laughs#loveyou#friendsforever PS that's you @jarge79 - tiny babies we were!! 😋
13 years ago I married my best friend, my life, my love. Whereas I’m like a hangover—gives you a headache, leaves you poorer, but ultimately it was worth it—you are more like a Nando’s—very tasty, sometimes fiery, always feel like I’m winning.
Love you Sarah. Xx
To the woman who gave me life, Happy Birthday.
You always believed in me, always encouraged me, always saw what I couldn't and you showed me, not just told me, how to live a life of meaning and contribution.
I've witnessed you go through tremendous hardships, brokenness and tragedies and here you are standing in total and complete victory. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You've shown me what it looks like to live a life submitted to and lead by God and that has made me the man, husband and father I am today.
Every day, but especially today Mom, I celebrate you and everything you are for so many people who's lives have been dramatically impacted by you.
Thank you for being loving.
Thank you for being faithful.
Thank you for being strong.
Thank you for believing in what others doubted.
Thank you for YOU.
You have always been, and continue being my hero.
Feliz cumpleaños con mucho amor.
Commemorating the first time I have ever been happy with a professional headshot 🙃
Come work out with me this Thursday the 23rd at 6pm here at Anytime Fitness! It’s our grand opening so we are expecting a nice crowd, and I’ll be showing off our group training 🙂
It’s a free and fun way to work up a good sweat and have some laughs! I do my best to infuse as much sunshine as possible into each session, but I’d like you to come see for yourself. 🌞
PS - if you’re one of the first 50 people to bring canned goods for the food drive, you’ll get a voucher for a free meal from the Holy Smokin’ BBQ food truck that will be on site 💜
🦋 NO EXPECTATIONS🦋
Attempting grasshopper in a field after hours of driving turns into documentary of a ride with a ball rolling down a hill. And that’s okay.
The next few weeks are unstructured for many of us. How will you roll with the punches? Can you carve out a bit of quiet time for yourself?
Mindfulness really comes into play here. When you drink your morning coffee (or tea), feel that warm cup in your hands, savor the smells, swirl that golden liquid in your mouth. This can be done anytime.
Yesterday I paused, took in the gorgeous scenery around me and tuned in to the joy of my daughters voice as she described some of the cool things she had tried.
How will you make today great? I’m going to attempt to pause a lot, tune into my breath, and have zero expectations, just roll with the punches. Join me?
